Ok yeah, It is a CRIME that Magadalena is ranked so low. She should easily be in the top 10 or at least 11-12... Sessilee and Heidi Mount need to be moved down.

I agree that Sessiee and Heidi should be lower but I think Magdalena is fine where she is. She's always the bridesmaid, and never the bride if you know what I mean. I don't follow her career so I may be wrong but she hardly ever does anything that isn't multi girl. Yes she does Ralph Lauren, but with 5 other girls where Valentina is in the front. Yes she does Oscar de a renta, with Anja in the front. She has obscure fragrance contracts like Givenchy and Ferragamo, but never does the mainline for those brands (which I think she is more suited to). She is a Karl Lagerfeld favourite but he never used her for Chanel, Fendi or Karl Lagerfeld campaigns. She has commercial appeal, so she does GAP but again never only girl. Designers and Editors haven't really utilised her full potential, she and Olga are great editorial models but until she has a Prada, Givenchy, Chanel, Balenciaga or Louis Vuitton campaign (mainine) it's not really fair to put her with the top 10 girls like Sasha, Natasha and Anja who can stand alone as stars. Just my opinion though, I respect her for how long and consistently she has been working.

I couldn't agree more with you. I had a conversation with a friend about the "filler" kind of models and he mentioned Magdalena, which got me thinking. I love Magdalena, but as you say, she often always gets the obscure campaigns. Even her LV campaign was a sideliner campaign, and her Givenchy fragrance campaign didn't get much hype. And unless she gets better fragrance deals, like Chloe ala Anja, or greater visibility in the editorial scene, she's just fine being at the Top 20.

i dont understand why frida is ranked so low she should def be in top 20 at least, and what is ruby even doing on that list

^ but campaigns is what really pays. Most of the top girls don't just do covers and editorials, they also score the major campaigns. Even the girls at the lower end score a few campaigns or maybe one.

^ If that's the case, then at least Ranya, Rose, Nimue, and any other girl with a "F/W 09" or a "S/S 10" campaign as her newest one, should have been eliminated a loooooooooooooooooong time ago.

I believe Nimue is on her way back. I mean, she had a break because of school but now that she's both finished school and moved to NY, she's bound to come back on top. Let's face it, she had a great runway season.

Ranya perhaps given her commercial siding lately instead of high profiled work. But still, both her and Rose are still so young and have so much time to blossom. Rose had a cover in Vogue Paris and given that she's both colored and so new, it's a big accomplishment and I don't see her leaving anytime soon.

Sometimes, it's better for girls to come in slowly and not so suddenly but I don't think I see at least two of the three girls mentioned disappearing anytime soon.

I think that they can be very brutal with the lower rankings / new girls: if a new girl scores a big campaign or cover she is in, if she scores a really big campaign or multiple campaigns, she cracks the Top 30, maybe even Top 20. Now if two seasons pass with no big work or covers and nothing on the horizon, then she's out (or takes a big drop), if she scores another big campaign, she's back in / up.

I think that certain commercial / catalog work could be a kind of buffer, this applies mostly to H&M, VS and designer lookbooks. Now if this is the only thing that she has done in two seasons and nothing is on the horizon, I can that causing her rank to drop or being removed altogether, but if she has been doing other minor stuff and is in a gray area, then I can see this counting in her favor.

Yes, Rose and Ranya are young, talented, etc, but for example Ranya... I mean, her last campaign was in F/W 09... it's so ridiculous she's at 36 despite of her editorial work and recent covers, 'cause right now there are tons of girls with great editorial works and covers and they're not ranked in the list because they haven't had a major campaign yet. Ranya may have potential, same with Rose... but the list introduction says that it is based on "recent work". Oh well, the same discussion always appears every two or three pages per week in this thread, and nothing has been solved yet... I'm really starting to think, it makes no sense to try to analyze all the irregularities of that list so deeply... :innocent:

Exactly. It's just a stupid list.
Everyone's always making so much noise about the ranks, beeing unfair, irregular ... you even say by yourself, this list is crap why even pay attention to it if it is so?

Regarding the Top Icons List

Kate Moss should be Number 1
She is the definition of a Lasting Power a Survivor.

Natalia Vodianova. A Supermodel like Natalia who is now
very popular, now has Major Lead Acting Roles, An Olympic Ambassador, Philantrophist. and her Iconic Campaigns should be Number 2

Gisel should be Number 3

I agree that Kate should be #1, but I can't help but think that you posted this and you think Gisele should be #3 because every single post I've seen from you is filled with your over-obsessed hatred with all things Victoria's Secret.

^ ... please lets not start again, a mod got mad in the last page, lets just ignore those type of comments she usually makes.

Well I agree about Kate Moss, but Natalie started when very late nineties/2000, Gisele has been around since 1994 right? I think she deserves her number 1 spot, but I just don't see her as Iconic as Kate, obviously High Fashion loves her but I don't see her breaking out of her Sexy look, she can't pull of elegant/grungy the same was as Kate can. Lets give Natalia another couple of years and if she's still relevant then she deserves the number 2 spot.

I never said it was crap. It could be very entertaining sometimes. :D

really hoping to see KK make a re-appearance on the list. i know she's in the "Money Girls" list ... but i'd really love her to be on the "Working Icons" list. especially now that she's come back to high fashion and had such a stellar season on the runway and a ton of recent editorial work.

this past season she had the Chanel Resort, Anne Klein and Elie Saab campaigns. crossing my fingers for something a little more may-juh for S/S 11

It was time for Jamie Dornan to finally go down... but still, he should be lower than Jon :judge:

Finally they included Robbie in the list.. I really can not understand which was the point of re-including Nicolas for a couple weeks and eliminating him again... but at least something is something.

and Simon needs to move to number 1... not to number 3.
