It's tiring to get all these haters here reducing her to a p*rn star / stripper.
Her career is an actress, she wants to be in these type of films, they are fun for her. She is not claiming to be the next Kate Winslet winning oscars and such. Let her live her life!

And about the GQ photos, when were they not meant to be sexy???

Thank you JoshSimona for the photos! I am hoping for a great outfit as well!

I totally agree with you Juliet....and she's still young, who knows how her life will look in the future....and these days i don't know who isn't posing for gq or some other magazine like that...it's just the way to be noticed in the showbusiness and stay in it , it's not the best world, but what can you do....but i don't see her just through that, she said many times her personality is quite the opposite, like not going out, staying at home, being with brian and her animals or friends...but i do belive we all have different sides to us...something like beyonce when says that she's realy not like sacha in real life...anyway, won't bore you with my analyzing anymore.....

Thanks Joshsimona , and I know what you mean it is exactly what I think as well. Judgmental people don't bother to look beyond the cover to discover she's the least party girl of this society, she's just hot! Lol there is no crime in flaunting it.. It doesn't make a person a sl*t.

I checked out her twitter and I honestly don't think its real. First off she's a self proclaimed hermit. Secondly while reading the "tweets" I just got the vibe that its fake.

Anyways thought I would post the Herald interview here since she does address doing mens magazines. I actually really enjoyed reading it. She appears to have a good grasp of how the public views her (ie. not as a serious actress).

Fox By Name Megan Fox takes the machismo of the new Transformers movie in her stride and tells LA correspondent Patricia Danaher about how her strength lies in her sexuality.

Megan fox has just turned 23 (May 16th) and spent her birthday alone in Hawaii. The statuesque beauty may be on a roll professionally, but she says she lives the life of a hermit these days, rarely goes out, is single, with very few friends and she hates the Hollywood scene.

By turns brittle and incredibly frank, Fox is a walking bundle of contradictions, who in spite of her sharp tongue keeps pushing forward in a career which pushes out and then chews up girls like her every year. Over a plate of raw food at the Four Seasons in Beverly Hills, the svelte star lays if out to me as she sees it.

"I'm kind of a very aggressive human being and I was a very scary teenage girl," she tells me in her opening gambit. Starring in the upcoming Transformers movie Revenge of the Fallen opposite Shia LaBeouf, Fox, whose ancestors come from Tipperary, seems very at home in this macho scenario, where the special effects are the stars of the show.

"I'm making a movie for the masses about robots, I don't need to be a method actor here," she laughs. "But, listen, I get burned constantly, every time I open my mouth, people refuse to understand the intent of what I'm trying to say. But I made a decision early on not to be a bull**** person, because this is a bull**** industry and I need to hold on to my soul and my integrity. I can't compromise and become part of the bull**** and, if that means I get burned for the first few years of my career, then that's what it means."

While it's very refreshing to meet a young actress with this kind of spunk, it's hard to believe this is how she speaks to directors and studios and continues to work. It's clear that she has happily exploited her looks and body to draw attention to herself professionally, posing half naked in several men's magazines. So, where does she think she is professionally right now?

"I think, for now, I'm definitely labelled in the pin-up category. I haven't given people a reason to take my work seriously yet, which is my responsibility. I think the expectation for me, as far as my ability as an actress goes, is very low. I feel like that means I can only ever be an over-achiever when people expect so little from me. I don't have a specific image that I'm hoping to achieve. I just really want it to, at some point, be okay for women to be sexy because I think that's a power, a gift that we were given by God or the universe or whatever. Men were given brute strength. They were given the physical ability to overpower, but we were given sensuality and our feminine wiles.

"Don't be afraid of your vagina. Don't fear your gifts. I don't think there's anything wrong with being sexy or being in your underwear, or being whatever. I think you need to have thoughts in your mind to go behind that image."

Currently single after dating the actor Brian Austin Green for five years, Fox is very much alone these days and spends most of her time by herself, reading and painting.

"I don't really know anything about being single yet, really. I've sort of isolated myself and forced myself to sit and be quiet. And I've been reading a lot and listening to music and trying to just work on myself. Because I was with someone from the time I was 18. And I've never been my own independent adult. Right now there's no space in my head for who's going to be next or how I need to fill my time. I'm trying to expand myself and grow and be comfortable with who I am before I get into another relationship where I'll just repeat a cycle. Otherwise I will have ten failed relationships. I will be Elizabeth Taylor by the time I am 60 and I don't want that."

Fox's next movie, Jennifer's Body, was written by Diablo Cody. She and the p*rn star Jenna Jameson are her role models because of the work they've done, their attitudes to their own sexuality and how they have used the industry which has more usually used and destroyed women.

"Diablo is like a post-feminist, strong woman who is not afraid of being sexual. Her book Candy Girl about her year as a stripper, I enjoyed so much and I admire her intensely. It's all about how powerful your shell is as a female.

"I'm obsessed with Jenna Jameson, not in a sexual way, but for the same reason I love Diablo. She took an industry that is not kind to women and she pretty much owns it now. She is a very successful, very shrewd, business-minded woman who used something that people think makes women weak and made herself extremely strong."
Given the image she has cultivated for herself as a femme fatale, it is interesting to hear Fox admit how naïve she is around men and how her usually sharp instincts have not always served her well in the dating department.

"I'm kind of a recluse. I'm a hermit and it's because I do have a great fear of Hollywood, just watching what it does to people. You have to be a really strong human being to survive it, as a girl especially. So I try to avoid the Hollywood scene as much as possible and people who enjoy the Hollywood scene -- that's usually a red flag to me. Some people might think my life is boring, but I haven't been to rehab yet, so I think I'm doing something right!

"Once you enter the dating world and you realise it's nothing like those Disney movies you watched when you were a little kid, you just become more guarded. And maybe I became jaded more quickly because of how exposed I was to so many different types of people at a young age. I think 'weary' is the word. Especially because of my image, I don't think people do take me seriously yet. I don't trust male intentions, usually, because they don't approach me for intellectual conversation." HQ

I agree with the assessment that she is not exactly on course to winning an Oscar...but she has said she doesn't care and would just do comic book movies if she could. Her image can be overplayed but she knows her audience and doesn't try to be something she isn't.

HAHHA i really love her attitude and that she admit that she is not one of those srious actresses. she seems so relaxed. i am glad there is somebody who is not trying to be another kate winslet or cate blanchett.

^ Well,I thought that article was great until I read the Jenna Jamesson and Diablo thing. She can't be serious ..... she tries way to hard to be seen as the progressive voice of young women in the industry. But that's not who she is,and she'll never be considered such as.I'm sorry but I have the feeling that sometimes Megan tries too hard. How can you make such statements and then two days later being half naked on the cover of a magazine ? That's stupid.

And she needs to stop the name dropping asap.In every interview she does, she has to talk about others. What does she knows about Liz Taylor. She'll never be 5% of what Liz has ever been in her damn life. For her to think that she is a step above Elizabeth Taylor in any way shape or form is absolutly ridiculous.

I'm trying my best to like this girl but sometimes she gets on my nerves.I don't think I'm a hater at all.And I'm tired to see that, everytime you say something negative about her.You get immediately called an insecure hater. All I know is that I'll try not to read her interview in the future.

Anyway, can't wait too see what she's going to wear tonight either.Let's hope she gets it right like Marchessa said.

PS:In my opinion her twitter is real,Party, because she's following BAG.But I don't know,BAG's twitter could be a fake too ....

Well I was not directing that towards you Lady_B because I said those who call her a sl*t or a girl on her way to be a p*rn star or stripper. That just gets tiring because it's not true at all..

THank you guys for expressing your thoughts too yeah I find her very refreshing!
Party_Vixen your bold statements are just what we are talking about! She is totally honest and open about herself and still she gets the jobs and is chased after for films. So this girl's got something going for her and I agree with what she's saying, women should be sexy again. Maybe you don't have to be as sexy as her, as revealing, but I find it annoying that it's not okay to be so if you wanted to. Women are sexy and there is nothing wrong with that.

i totally agree. I've actually been on this thread complementing her looks before, but now with al her promotional interviews she is seriously getting annoying. The name dropping is like Lindsay Lohan 2.0. I think she is the second most name dropping actress next to Lohan. I'm starting to find her unattractive, and moving more towards truly beautiful women inside and out, like Marion Cotillard, Natalia Vodianova, Melanie Laurent and Carey Mulligan. These women carry more class and elegance in their little finger than someone like Megan will. Is Megan still a pretty girl? Yes, but the way she presents herself makes her seem all the more gross. I can't imagine any of the above women would mention how they forget to flush the toilet after going number 2. But of course, Megan has-and that makes her such a rebel

When have women stopped trying to be sexy? I didn't know that over the past few years all the starlets were wearing burlap sacks on the cover of Maxim, GQ, Esquire, etc... Megan is doing the same thing on the covers that girls like Britney, Lindsay, Hilary Duff, have done. You don't see Cate Blanchett doing that on a regular basis and she is still sexy. So is Megan opening the doors of sexiness or something? Angelina surely had a big mouth too, but at least she came across more eccentric and genuine. Megan is trying harder than ever to parallel herself with Angelina's personality. Like mentioning knives during sex? Megan did that recently too. She said herself she wanted to be taken more seriously as an actress so she consciously rejected doing mens magazine covers. But of course when she has something to promote, she will take off her clothes at the drop of a dime.

I wasn't talking about you either Juliet.I was talking in general :flower:

My opinion exactly. It's very funny to see that a lot people have a love and hate thing goin' on with Megan.I don't feel lonely in this situation anymore

Okay.. I am saying it should not be shameful or inviting for calling sl*tty names if she is sexy the way she is. Of course other women are sexy.

I guess some people can respect her and some can't! I just think it is a shame. ^_^

Lady_B thanks :flower: !

Juliet is totaly agree about eveything you said.

Doing movies and shooting for men magazines can't be set in the same category. She said that she wants to be seen as a serious actress in movies, what she's doing outside that hasn't anything to do with her movies.

And I really don't know what is so wrong shooting for men's magazines, you are saying like she's naked on them,so many famous celebrities were on those magazines and Why can't she use her sexuality when she obviosly has it?Like it's something shamefull?Every woman wants to be sexy.

I still don't know why people deslike her that much. When you look at her,she isn't doing anything wrong. What would you say if she was that type of celebrity that is drunk every second day, clubbing and making mess, but she isn't doing anything from that.

then tara reid must have been sexy doing all those FHM covers in her prime :innocent: she wasn't exactly nude either
nowadays, movies and public image outside movies go hand in hand. If you don't believe that, try telling Lindsay Lohan that her public image hasn't hurt her get job offers. Of course, Megan posing with little clothing isn't gonna hurt her in anyway. I just think she is contradictory in whom she criticizes and what she attempts to uphold wit her "beliefs." Megan is too insulting sometimes to her peers. Maybe she doesn't realize it, but she better watch out who she uses her sharp tongue on in Hollywood.

And you are telling me that Lindsay could have got a serious movie role?
Talking honest,I could count on my fingers actresses who really can act,and maybe Megan isn't in that category but so isn't 60% of the Hollywood.

I know that movies and public image go hand in hand, and obviously if Megan lived the life like Lindsey she couldn't get through and make it big,but she isn't like Lindsay,at least I don't think so.

ok, i'm not directing this to anyone particulary, but if you are jelaous on some level and don't want to admit that even to yourself or have some insecureties don't make megan your enemy...if you took a bit of time you would maybe see she isn't that bad at all....i myself for example can't stand anything but natural beauty, and we all know she had work done, but somehow i always put someones personality or good intentions first and i think she has them...anyway, love what she had to say in that interview!

Good grief. Some people really try to turn the littlest things into a huge deal.

Re: the Elizabeth Taylor comparison. She's not comparing her CAREER to Liz, she's comparing her LOVE life. Liz has had 7 failed marriages. I wouldn't want that either, regardless of a successful career. Megan is saying that she doesn't want to jump into a relationship with just anyone if she knows it won't last because she doesn't want to be the girl that's always breaking up.

As for the mens magazines, even serious actresses have done them while trying to establish their careers. It's similar to taking a role in a crappy film because you're just trying to get known (ie. Anne Hathaway in Princess Diaries). For example, Angelina Jolie has done covers for GQ and Maxim before. Kate Winslet and Penelope Cruz have also done GQ covers. So has Anne Hathaway and Scarlett Johannsson.

I'm just glad she's not like the other actresses who do pose for these magazines and complain about not being taken seriously. Jessica Biel complains about only getting hot girl roles and then appears in FHM in only a bikini. Rachel Bilson complains about Natalie Portman and others getting the types of roles she wants but the only thing she does is go to fashion events. Or Lindsay Lohan complaining that the paparazzi are preventing her from getting good roles. I like that Megan is honest and accepts responsibility as to why she isn't considered a serious actress.

But like I said, magazines are a good way to get exposure so many actresses will appear on the cover for publicity. If they're just starting out, they won't get Vogue and Vanity Fair right away. Penelope's last GQ cover was in 2000. Angelina's Maxim pics were also in 2000 (the black and white toilet ones). Kate Winslet did GQ in 2003. It's been a while so we've forgotten, but even today's respectable actresses started out like that in the earlier days when they hadn't established their reputation yet.
