Megan has said in a lot of interviews that she isn't a very big fan of Hollywood events (at one point she said she feels like her agent chums the water around her and people swarm her). I imagine that if she doesn't have a film to help promote (or isn't supporting a friend - like how she goes to Shia's premieres), she just avoids it.

thanks for the pix liz, and yeah, the oscars are a joke, but even if they weren't a joke, i doubt she would've been invited.

I think they pretty much invite everyone to the Oscars nowadays. I love the fact she didn't go, although I would have loved to have seen what she would have worn on the red carpet.

Since TPTB wanted "young Hollywood" there(hence Miley, Kristen and the gang), I'm sure Megan would have been invited She's a beautiful starlet who looks fab in a gown, and was in one of the highest grossing film franchises ever. It's a no brainer.

It's probably not her thing, or she was filming.

I guess she didn't need one at the time since she didn't have anything to promote and had just come off doing tons of promotions in the fall

she strikes me as the type that when she has something to promote, she's out there working it.. but when she's free she stays out of the spotlight as much as possible
