Melanie Laurent

:o :buzz: oh wow!.. she looks truly incredible!!..
it could potentially become my favorite look of the entire event.. it's so daring, not just for the feathers but the fact that it's so meticulously combined with the shoes, hair and makeup and she stills manages to get away with it and look stunning..
thank you emilee!.

a few more from corbis!.

^I absolutely love it too, even though I do find the hair challenging...

that first pic from corbis is so beautiful..
..i'm really excited about this girl, especially since the last few appearances at cannes where she is proving to be experimental and brave with her choices :o . this dress is divine, she pulls it off beautifully and the colour is really fabulous, how daring of her. the only thing i wish is that she'd combed her fringe back with the rest of her hair...it looks cute in some pics but in the majority of them it just looks a bit oily and strange. nevertheless, she looks amazing....a really bold, fresh figure....yay!. :woot:

I completely agree, she is bold and daring and it pays off:D, I love this orange dress, great color she looks divine and ethereal great shoes too:heart:

Wow, she looks stunning! A very daring look, I must say but I think she completely pulls it off :woot:

Has anyone seen her short film that premiered at Cannes? I can't find any info on it

Two pictures from Wireimage.
1 July Melanie @ the Giuseppe Zanotti Design Party at Le Petit Palais.

According to Pure People.com Melanie Laurent is to star in Quentin Tarantino's new film Inglorious Bastards, along with Brad Pitt and Diane Kruger. Apparently filming starts soon

Let's hope it's true...

What a knockout cast that would be! Thanks for the info :flower:

I'm hoping it isn't true. Having read the script and already been disappointed by Tarantino's recent films, it sounds like it's going to be over-the-top, self-indulgent violent trash, and not in the fun way. Considering she said hated holding a gun in La Chambre des morts, didn't like the genre, and the violence and horror in that film was very mild, all things considered, it seems surprising that Mélanie would even want to be part of this movie.

I'd rather see her break onto the international scene with a part that's more "her," for lack of a better term, if only because being in her element would give the international audience a better look at what she's capable of as an actress. And that's a heartfelt performance like in Je vais bien, ne t'en fais pas, not a camp bloodbath where she's blowing up Nazis. Pulp Fiction and Reservoir Dogs are two of my favorite movies, but I just cringe to think of people who don't follow French cinema only knowing Mélanie for Inglorious Bastards as it looks so far.

I realize I'm in the minority here, but that's my 2 cents. ;) My fingers are crossed that Hollywood comes calling with something that stinks a little less.
