Here are some short-shorts...

Some might say this only looks good on the runway, but I think you MIGHT be able to get away w/ these in real-life; but like the runway, the right styling is key..

Here are the shorts I just bought..which I will wear once my leg-hairs grow back (I volunteered myself to be the waxing-model for the new employees at my job)..the more I look at this shot, the more tempted I am to wear it like so..when summer is in full swing, I might ditch the socks (and replace it w/ hidden-heel socks) and coat, and wear a short-sleeve button up w/ either a bowtie or a necktie (schoolboy look, Im thinking)..

-black patent leather shoes..
-black socks w/ white floral prints..
-black shorts w/ blue pinstripes..
-black l/s tee..
-navy (almost black) coat worn inside out..

That Cloak shorts with the flappy thing is awesome, I never wear shorts in public but if I can get on hand on the Cloak pair I might actually attempt to try it...is it in production now?

I know what you mean..........mine are weird. I have small and skinny calves, but thicker thighs.

Sounds like we have the same problem! My friends always tell me that I have such small thights but when I sit down I feel like their HUGE!!!!!

For some reason I have an aversion to shorts. even when i lived in africa I found it hard to wear them anywhere but on the beach.

I tried on some Juicy shorts at Bloomingdales in Tysons today. They were ok, my only concern is that they were like spandex linen, they started to crinkle as I was trying them on, but they were really nicely done. I also didnt like the pockets on the *** because it accentuated my bum (I cant afford that). But it did look nice, flattered my discus throwing claves...

OMG!! Me too. I blame my mother for giving me huge thighs

Eugenius............I agree with the-smiths..............that look is great. But keep the shoes and lose the socks. Would be a great look.

never, hate shorts. people with shorts either look like a german turist or a teenage surfer. you need so much more of the other clothes to pull shorts off, shoes, socks, top, and le legs.

Those Neil Barrett shorts a page back are actually alright... and that's saying a lot!

I own precisely 2 pairs of shorts: black mesh adidas ones (for running and the beach) and khaki cargo shorts (for the beach).

I'm not a fan of shorts to say the least... although the styling of hiking up the legs of pants is kind of cool. I could live with that for sure!

I'm in the minority of people who LOVE shorts. I love shorts so much I even wear them when it's cool. I used to wear shorts all the time as a kid living in a hot climate so that's probably why I enjoy wearing them so much now.

just don't wear them with pulled up socks like my father does. my mom says most men do to keep mud and dirt off their legs...1) I don't buy it 2) that makes absolutely 0 sense.

I typically either go for the capri style to blend my calves in or shorts that end a little higher than the knee, I have what I call Ninja-turtle calves and I absolutely hate them, but I have that little nice V at the end of the thigh which makes above the knee shorts look great. Mostly paired with nice sandals or low-sneaker type shoes.

Ninja turtle calves I just say I have calves like a shot putter. But I do agree, today I purchased a pair of Ralph Lauren short shorts, they're very short (about two inches above my knee) and very fitted through the leg, I think they flatter my calves as well as they can be. Im gonna wear mine with drivers, a cardigan and tshirt.

Yeah I can imagine the look, Ive seen the shorts at Ralph Lauren, the fitted shorts with a tee and cardigan is definetely it, might get myself a pair coming summer.
