Let me see, considering posts about models and their SS12 Fashion Weeks, my list at the moment (“at the moment” is an important thing to underline, I tend to change my mind and spoil my plans way too often…) looks something like this:
-Caterina Ravaglia;
-Simona Andrejic;
-Sigrid Agren;
-Zuzanna Bijoch;
-Nadine Ponce;
-Kate Kosushkina
As I just underlined, don’t be sure about this list ‘cause neither am I… but what I wanted to underline is there are two models I literally love, Caterina and Simona, one I love talking about runway, Sigrid, one I find so cryptic, interesting and somehow still to discover, Nadine, and finally two others I appreciate a lot and I find objectively remarkable and solid, Zuzanna and Kate, even if the last one talking about runway (like Sigrid) especially (if not just and only).
Btw, yep,
the point I wanted to underline, which is: in this bunch of models I appreciate, like or love, why have I decided to write about Merilin Perli? If I did, a reason there must be… right? Sure, sure it’s right…
Merilin is (like others: Kate Kosushkina for example, ‘cause I already mentioned her in this post) a model…
it’s pretty easy to underrate models like her, and it’s a shame, really a shame – and maybe that’s why I decided to do a post about her before other models. Because
no, I don’t love her, not my fav kind of model too, but I appreciate her for sure, and I’d like to underline it’s not easy to be impeccable, flawless and reliable the way in fact she is. It’s important to say that, and I find even more significant to do it right after having done a post about Daphne Groeneveld, ‘cause there are models I personally prefer, sure, and Daphne is one of them: but
some things are objective, undeniable and deserve to be highlighted – just like qualities of a model like Merilin Perli (for the record and before I forget, I noticed her a long time ago @ her mother agency, EMA Model Management, where Merilin is my fav with Alexandra Tikerpuu and the evergreen Olga Serova).
Qualities which she totally showed and confirmed during this last SS12 Fashion Weeks season
“Cookies” (2007) is a witty fresh-sounding masterpiece of marvelously unpretentious (I hope so, otherwise, I’d have to eat my words with graceful ease) and unabashed indie rock by 1990s, made of 12 tracks I find all perfect and… it’s hard to always listen to an album from the first to the last track, without any kind of temptation to skip this or that song, but that’s exactly what happens, at least personally, with “Cookies”. Then, ok, if you ask me about my fav albums of all time, “Cookies” won’t be part of the list, and I’m pretty sure about it… but there are good chances during this last week I listened to “Cookies” a couple of times (at least), and… what about “Tommy”, or “The Beatles” (aka: “The white album”) for example? Maybe not, but simply ‘cause “Cookies” is music I like but generally tend to listen to while I do other things, which doesn’t happen very often with albums like the two I mentioned above (in the list of my fav albums of all time for sure).
Btw, yes:
impeccable, a masterpiece of the genre, maybe not exactly unforgettable but certainly so refreshing and enjoyable – all considerations I find perfect for Merilin. And if I have to underline this is about runway and shows especially,
Merilin is so cute, of a maybe not astonishing or unique but objectively lovely beauty, and a model who represents a remarkable (and so graceful) option for great part of the shows.
So no, maybe she won’t ever embody a collection like no other one around, but there are good chances she won’t ever disappoint or be out of place, like a lot of other models a lot of times in fact do and are.
Such a reliable, graceful and adorable option, which can be relied on and on whom you can count somehow upon trust – ja see on (väga) tore.
