I have a Michele urban in white with a blue croc strap. I love this watch to death, have even retired my similar Corum because of it. It is the watch that I wear all the time to school. My only concern is that they are becoming over exposed. I have seen a lot of people wearing them, from Park Avenue mothers to store clerks. What do you guys think?

it's time to upgrade...i always have the same difficulty because when you get a watch in the one to fives you tend to see everyone in them...and a few months ago my friends and i were all sitting out on the patio of some restaurant eating lunch...we called our good friend over (she was in the neighborhood) and she sat at our table and she was looking as scrubberific (like cropped cargos, paul frank tee, calvin jean jacket, and a clutch) and she had on an oyster perpetual...it just made all of our jaws drop...there just comes a point when you have to step it up and it can totally take your look to another level

Yes, I see your point. But the truth is that I already have more exspencive watches, but I just don't feel right wearing them to high school. Although my Courms might not be horridly over-the-top. What about a Cartier tank? Even though everyone has those too, at least they don't have the, because they are cheapish.

I have quite a few Michele watches that I bought in NYC. Where I live they dont sell them so I dont see others wearing them.

But even if others are wearing them that wouldnt stop me.

But I do agree that there are certain types of watches for different occasions. Like I would never wear my Omega Constellation Diamond Aquila Mini Omega to school. It's for special "fancy" fancy occasions.

Same way I wouldn't wear my Deco Rubies & Diamond Michele watch with an evening gown. It looks best with jeans or any casual wear.

i love my cartier tank francais. in my opinion i think its so versatile and timeless. like i loved the design of the francais before i even knew what cartiers were.

the santos and the panther look a little too old for me.

yeah, everyone has them it seems (i see several different versions of them everytime i'm in the wealthy area of Houston), but its one of those things that i saw that i just HAD to have. like i saw it once, and was like THATS the watch i want! i didnt care if anyone else had it cuz i really like the design.

i had a michele for about 2 years but it got stolen :yuk: and they are a bit popular, but who cares? if you really like it then wear it. you can always do what i used to do -- change the bands. that always makes it fun. i think mid to higher end watches are something of an investment. they go in and out of trends all the time but they are always there, so it makes it even cooler if u wear them when there not in. i mean there high end so there just that, there a staple of ur wardrobe, its not supposed to be switched out when things go in and out otherwise they would be a lot cheaper.

i think it would be cooler to keep your michele and make it like your signature piece. same thing with your corum. alternate!

DITTO

SO, so true

i remember when my dad first bought his rolex and i saw it for the first time i was like -- WHOA! sometimes i think it totally makes what he wears look 10 times better and more expensive. this is the same guy who goes shopping once a year and would rather be in sweats, lol.

Reviving this old thread...

I'm in the market for a really good quality watch, one that I can pass down to future generations etc. etc...I've been looking at pieces by Raymond Weil and Cartier specifically...However, I keep getting drawn to the Michele line. The design is so cute and youthful, and, well, me.

I hesitate to buy a Michele for 2 reasons: First, I've been told many times that they're too expensive for what it is. I'd just be paying high-end luxury watch price, for the Michele name on a Swiss Army quality piece. I mean, that's not to say that Swiss Army watches aren't any good, just that I'd be hard pressed to spend $1000+ for one. And second, the particular model I'm looking at (the CSX Petite Diamond with SS strap) is the same price as the regular CSX 33 Diamond watch, which is significantly bigger. I don't understand why the price point for the petite remains in line with the larger model.

I mean, I could spend maybe $500-$1000 more to get a watch that's a watch but I feel hesitant to spend this much more for a good one. I hate to spend more than I have to, especially if the quality is not up to par with its supposed worth...

So...I guess the question is: are Michele watches worth what i'd be paying for it?

For some reason, i've had to send 4 of my Catier watches back to dealer for repairs. It's a bit shocking considering how much I paid for them. I've never had any problems with my Michele watches. I love them all and they've never broken down. Even the battery on them seems to last longer!

I would go for it. Especially if they suit your style.
