the archive shop, "minä perhonen piece", is originally a place for archive fabric wastes' rebirth as fresh products through being patchworked, appliqued, etc. that's why they are sewing the pieces on the spot like a bakery who serves bread fresh from the oven. and maybe it has something to do with the walls of old jacquard punched cards too.
these chairs with those waste pieces from the past textiles currently displayed and sold at isetan shinjuku are made of certain part of walnut, oak, or beech that they would normally throw away because of the knots.
