Miranda Kerr On Singlehood, Looking Great In Lingerie And Her Funny Valentine
Throughout her modeling career, Miranda Kerr has singlehandedly made dimples synonymous with sex appeal, blending cuteness with curvaceous allure. The apple-cheeked Australian is also a skincare entrepreneur, single mother (to four-year-old Flynn) and wellness icon in the making.
As anyone who follows Kerr’s social media accounts knows, she’s a fount of positivity—which may be why Escada tapped her to be the face of its new fragrance, Escada Joyful. In between her travels, she recently chatted with Lucky about everything from cultivating happiness to eating right. Oh, and if you’ve ever been curious to know what it’s like to be a single supermodel, you’re about to find out.
When you’re not working, what’s your beauty routine like? Are you low-maintenance, or is the process more involved?
I like to keep it simple. I cleanse, tone and moisturize using products from my KORA Organics range and then just apply tinted day cream (again, from my KORA Organics range), concealer where it’s needed, RMS Lip2cheek in Beloved on lips and a little on the cheek, curl my eyelashes and apply mascara. And the last thing I do is spray perfume: Escada Joyful.
How does perfume fit into your getting-ready ritual?
It’s the last thing I do when I’m getting ready. I like to spray the ends of my hair and my clothes rather than it directly on my skin.
You are the face of Escada’s Joyful fragrance. What’s your advice for people who want to create more joy in their lives?
Just to make it a priority. Life is too short not to have joy in your life every day. It doesn’t have to be a big grand plan. For me, it can be a simple walk out in the park or taking a bath at the end of a long day. It’s the little moments of joy that can sometimes have the biggest impact.
What’s the biggest beauty dare you’ve ever taken?
Not so much a dare, but for a magazine shoot I bleached my eyebrows white.
I know you try to eat organic food. Do you see any connection between your diet and the health of your skin and hair?
Yes, of course. Our skin is our largest organ, so it’s important to feed it and nourish it as best you can. I drink a smoothie each morning that is packed with superfoods and antioxidants. I also believe in the blood type diet and follow those eating principles.
Can you share any pointers for those of us who want to look their best in their underthings? Extra points if they work for non-supermodels.
Just really feel comfortable and confident in who you are as an individual. Any person worth impressing will look beyond the physical appearance.
You’re single right now. How is that experience helping you discover more about yourself?
It’s just allowing me time to grow independently, and in a way that has no pressure or confinement.
Finally, what’s the last thing that made you laugh uncontrollably?
My son. He has the cheekiest sense of humor and an infectious laugh. Once he starts, we’re both off laughing uncontrollably.
