Cover girl ... Miranda Kerr on Harper's Bazaar.


SHE cut short her Christmas holidays in Australia to return to New York for this shoot.
And the extra effort has paid off for model Miranda Kerr, who has scored the cover of the UK version of Harper's Bazaar magazine.
While we've been waiting on word of her romance with Orlando Bloom, the Gunnedah gal was waxing lyrical about working with famed photographer Michelangelo Di Battista on the shoot.
"I do not think you ever get used to seeing yourself on the cover of a magazine. It is exciting and daunting all at once. I am a big fan of Harper's Bazaar and really enjoyed working with Michelangelo," she said.
"Michelangelo is truly a master at working with the light."

Kerr - The New Face Of David Jones?

Is this the new face of retail giant David Jones?
Miranda Kerr is firming as the red hot favourite to replace Megan Gale as the catwalk representative for David Jones. The beautiful brunette has been cast as Wonder Woman in George Miller’s Justice League of America.
It’s been reported that on Friday Colette Garnsey, (general manager of apparel at David Jones’), declined to comment or confirm that Miranda would infact fill Megan Gale’s shoes after she retired earlier this week in Melbourne.


Colette would only say that an appointment would be made in due course.

“Up until now we’ve really been focusing on this season, our last one with Megan, and I think that is something to worry about in the future,” she said.​

However, it is likely an appointment will be made in the coming weeks as the retailer prepares for its new season catalogue and summer collections launch in August.
Megan Gale will continue as a brand ambassador for the retailer giant.


It was interesting to note that, Paul Bonnici (Myer’s Marketing & Creative Director), said Kerr — who would go head-to-head with Myer’s glamour girl, Jennifer Hawkins — would be an “interesting” appointment.

“I think Jennifer is probably a lot more well-known than Miranda. And Miranda has also been an ambassador for Portmans for a couple of years, so she will still be known as the face of Portmans, so it will interesting,” he said.​

Kerr’s contract with Portmans ended not to long ago and she recently appeared in a David Jones’ catalogue.


Stephen Downes, a marketing lecturer at RMIT, said finding an ambassador who could match Hawkins’ glamorous and squeaky-clean image wouldn’t be easy.

“I think it will be difficult to find the right person that brings … an international profile and a grounded, wholesome image,” he said.​
