Well, I also think a slashed dress with cut-out panels is a bit tacky. The original poster wasn't being "mean" and went on to say that Miranda has the body to carry it off. It's a fashion forum, there's no need to be that oversensitive about a dress..

i dont think its oversensitive, and there are ways to say things in more respectful ways, i didnt like her dress that much, but still, i think she could pull it off very good because she has the body.
besides, i think it was just me, but i didnt feel that total comment was with good intentions, maybe im wrong, but the hole comment wasnt really polite in any way to miranda. i guess im just saying to much, and probably this discussion is meaningless to the thread, so i would like if the mods would erase it.

I appreciate this forum because ppl here are most of the times very polite and nice to each other. But sometimes I feel I can`t say all the things I want, even if it´s about just a dress. It isn`t exactly personal attack for Miranda to say her dress is tacky. We can keep things polite but still honest.

But: I don´t hate that dress, I actually think it looks good on her. But it`s little boring, maybe. Like Sybill said, with that body she can pull everything off.

See while I don't like the VSFS after-party dress or the cut-out dress, I do like the dress she wore at the Marakesh party. It's a little mature for her but I think she pulls it off. If I was styling her for an event, I would put her in a nice little black cocktail dress that showed off her amazing legs. Like this Christian Lacroix dress from his SS09 collection:
