DAVID Jones has recalled its biggest asset as it arms to fight an increasingly volatile retail market.
Gunnedah-raised supermodel Miranda Kerr, the department store's top public-relations weapon, will return as figurehead to launch DJs' next collection in Sydney in July.

Kerr, this week on the catwalk for Victoria's Secret in the US, has been absent from the retailer's showings for the past 12 months after being granted a leave of absence to first get married to Hollywood actor Orlando Bloom, and then to give birth to son Flynn.

Her return to Australia will come as a massive boost to the retailer, which is unleashing all its power to reinvigorate the brand against an onslaught from global online shopping.

The Sunday Telegraph can reveal Kerr today begins shooting the spring/summer 2011 campaign at The Parker exclusive hotel in Palm Springs, California.
DJs has also recently re-signed Kerr as its ambassador until the end of 2013.

She will be visiting Sydney at the end of July, before appearing at a lavish catwalk collection event at the beginning of August.
