well it is an incredibly good niche, considering the fame and fortune attached to it...she has excelled and done extremely well for herself in this area of work especially considering that the majority of girls doing VS are noted high fashion models and veterans...i remember in an interview she said something about feeling very blessed or lucky to be chosen seeing as VS generally uses a lot of top girls...

but then again, she's never really campaigned, or even walked for the first-tier and elite fashion houses or designers...it's usually stuff like babyphat

she is a model, who is trying to do her job, I dont think she chose not to do high fashion because she is not into it, but simply the fact that her look is not high fashion at all! her look is very much commercial. yes she has done abit of runway, nothing major like dior. but she has been in this industry for quite some time now and she has been trying her hardest to make it into the industry, but it is hard for her to score big campaigns and runways, simply because her look is not high fashion, its very commercial.

So, if her look is just simply commercial then how can she win over top designers? She has tried for the past 12 years (ever since she was 14 yeals old) so she majors in commerical, she is very successful in commercial, because her look fits in very well ! she is a lovely model, and I dont think of her less because she isnt big in the fashion world, she has devoted her life to this industry, she has tried, She is beautiful inside and out. and thats why I love her

hardly a household name....she is a household name to those who follow fashion, or maybe relatively known in australia, but most people dont know who miranda kerr is...even gemma ward isnt known by many of those who dont follow fashion. many conversations ive had with people and they dont know these girls. i always forget and wonder how they couldnt know these girls, but then i remember the % of people who dont give a cr@p about the models.

Why would anyone think a catalog model with a correspondence course in nutrition would have any kind career outside the catalogs? Maybe she is known in Aus. but is not very big here in the states. Besides being Bloom's latest arm candy, she's just another pretty but vacant panty model. Sorry, but that's the truth.

And why do people try to make her bigger than she is? The last poster said she'd have a line of health foods for goodness sakes. She is a lingerie catalog model...that is her claim to fame. She is not the messiah of modeling or health. She is a pretty girl who knows that her body has gotten her far and she knows how to work it.

Correspondence course? I thought she went to school and actually got a degree? But hey a correspondence course is better than most models.

Miranda's done very well for what she is. She was never high fashion, she doesn't have the look. She's clearly commercial although I am a little suprised she's not bigger than she is. She was being promoted very heavily about a year ago. I expected make up contracts, more major magazine covers etc. She hasn't even appeared on the cover of Australian Vogue or even more suprisingly in Sports Illustrated yet but it's just further proof that the days of the Supermodel are over. It's just a bunch of random girls who come and go now.

She is not the messiah of modeling or health. She is a pretty girl who knows that her body has gotten her far and she knows how to work it.

I second that. Nevertheless this is her thread in "Supporting cast". It's here to support her and her work - or at least this is how I understand its function. Isn't it only natural that those who support her will argue with those who doesn't like or critisize her?
I'm not talking about anyone in particular but I'm curious to know why people are going to a supporting thread while well aware that a negative comment is likely to start an issue. I'm not saying one is not allowed to give one's opinion, I'm just wondering.

And I don't think that anyone who doesn't know her personally has got the right to question her intelligence referring to the comment about her having a correspondece course on nutrition.

Anyway, personally I do think Miranda's one of the cutest things around and I'm really sad she's not getting more advertisements. I wonder if it's just because the VS stamp on her forehead is growing steadily.

She has said plenty of times in interviews that she will be making the most of her life now and I dont mean straight away but she will branch out of "catelogs" and into other things.. Shes already writing a book isnt she? And just because shes not that well known in the US doesnt mean she wont be.. and besides being big in Australia is a very good thing we're not a tiny little country or anything..

Whos know what she will do but shes smart and she knows what shes doing and IN MY OPINION we will see plenty more of her in the future apart from catelogs.. And health foods (im sure if she was going to do that she'd study it even further) was only a suggestion whos know what will happen i was just trying to give some examples of what she could do.. Plenty of models branch out into other things so why cant she? People underestimate Miranda I think..

Wow, please tell me you are not being serious. so you are ready do judge a person by an interview and recommened her character through a interview! Oh because you know the type of person she is, you know what she has been through, you know everything about her and her history Just because she is a model it doesnt mean shes not smart, we shouldnt down-grade her just because of her occupation. I mean if you knew her and were very close to her in a personal level then make those type of judgements But dont call her dumb through an interview, she could be nervouse she may not be at her best while being interviewed...

Anyways, Miranda is a lovely model, a breath of fresh air in this industry, and I dont think we should comment in this thread if we only come here to down-grade her, if you dont appreicate her then go to a thread of a model you do appreciate.
