Miranda Kerr

Miranda Kerr portrayed by Steven Meisel

A magazine that escapes its own pages to become real in the hands of its readers. It reinvents itself and - first among fashion magazines - challenges, once again, the strict schemes of printed paper. Vogue's new frontier is called 3D. Because enclosed in the September issue of Vogue Italia (today in newsstands in Milan, from the beginning of next week in the rest of Italy) you'll find a special pair of 3D vision glasses.

You'll just need to wear them to see the cover and the cover story Miranda - shot by photography master Steven Meisel - which is to be read and seen from a different perspective.

The protagonist of the 22 pages of the photo shoot with such powerful visual impact is Australian top model Miranda Kerr.

Thanks to the possibility of seeing in three dimensions, Vogue images will acquire a totally new power, crossing the borders of fashion photo shoots, to strengthen even more the very high quality pictures, which have always been the trademark of the magazine.

Cover and cover story, but that's not all: for Vogue Italia readers the 3D surprises of the September issue carry on in The Scent of the Future, a story shot by Tim Walker.

On the cover:
Natural beauty, as interpreted by Miranda Kerr and her breathtaking appeal. A sublime makeup is her ally. With an outdoor foundation like Double Wear, which guarantees a soft color, and maintains it all day long.

On the cheeks, a pastel nuance from Silky Powder Blush, in Tender Petal. On the eyelids, a nude tonality and dark shadows near the lashes: these are shades from the mono-shades by Pure Color Eyeshadow, in Fresh Nude and Sugar Biscuit.

A touch of light on the lips with Pure Color Gloss in Twilight Petal: a high-impact, long-lasting shine. All by Estée Lauder. Coat in stretch ciré with knit, fur trimmed collar, Prada. Earrings, Ted Muehling; watch Cartier. Choker necklace, Gucci. Hair Oribe using Oribe Hair Care. Makeup Pat McGrath. Fashion editor Karl Templer.

Words can't describe how happy I am for her! She got the most important cover in the most important month to top it off! This is surreal.

   *dies*

I'm SO happy for her. This is as big as it gets. However, I can't say I'm a fan of this cover. She looks beautiful, as usual, but I was hoping Meisel would do something more with her - something more inspired. 3D is exciting though, and so nice to see Frankie!

Anywhoo, she officially owns the September issue's. Vogue Italia cover, Spanish Vogue cover, and 3 eds in US Vogue. Go Miranda, go on with your beautiful self. :woot:

Miranda is still only being used in HF for the novelty. I think you two should calm down a bit, wait to see if she still continues strongly on that path after returning from a pregnancy at 28, before you start cutting off all her multi-million dollar contracts. Remember; you can't be a "supermodel" without the commercial side of the business - no matter how "cheap and tacky" you think it is.

Totally agree!

I was totally sure about you two agree about this...:innocent:

I think that Miranda can do better than commercial advertisements, and I think that, with the money she earned in these years, perhaps she will be able to try less remunerative but more elegant paths.
Btw, I don't think that every shot of Victoria's Secret or David Jones are tacky or cheap, I like some of them. She did them a lot for a while, now why don't try another way? She can do that

Totally glad that you can identify common sense, then.

We have this discussion every couple of months. After Miranda comes out with a couple of HF shoots, you're all calling for her to quit commercial. I don't know about you, but personally, I want her to achieve the highest magnitude of success possible, that means continuing to model commercially with VS and DJs - because she's at the stage where the trend in the industry is "supermodels"/"VS curves in HF", that's why she's getting so much work. Not because she's a spectacular model. In a couple of years, when she's got 3 VIs, 4 VPs and about 10 bluechip campaigns under her belt, that's when she'll be able to quit commercial and still continue to be successful.

Money is money, and money is success. Sorry to say.

This argument over Commercial vs High fashion is brought up in this thread way too many times. I don't understand the big deal, just smile at the fact that she can do both - which is something rare. Now can we just appreciate the variety in her work? -_- Sigh...

Preach. Agreed.

If you want her to achieve the highest magnitude of success possible, then I will be able to see your point of view. I didn't say she have to totally quit commercial works, but I like to see her doing different things and I think she can do them well. You say she is not a spectacular model...well, in my opinion, there are some supermodel that are not spectacular, Kate Moss for example. Btw, supermodels don't exist anymore, they existed in the 80's

And I agree with you too kito...

^ Well, I'm not quite sure what you're talking about anymore, since you basically backtracked on everything you said, then threw in a little fun fact in at the end (that was great by the way, loved that).

Btw, did you know that dartboards are made out of horsehair?

Nice cover, but I was hoping for something more... However the 3D idea is pretty cool, she does look beautiful and Frankie is one lucky dog

^ Right! Do you think Frankie's the first dog to land a VI cover? I think she's working it more than Miranda is.
