Miranda Kerr

Obviously her priorities lie in a very place to yours (for her) right now...

Personally, I think she will be even MORE marketable after having her baby. There is something appealing about a mother, and is easy to market to a particular audience. I don't doubt that she will bounce back to her original form quite quickly and resume work in whatever form she deems good for her.

It's possible though, that being a mother and enjoying this time of personal growth and development might be a little bit more important to her than her high fashion career. ;) It's obvious that she has been building the "miranda kerr" brand for a while now, and she's done a great job of it. I think she could take 'kora' in a whole range of different directions. She's also mentioned wanting to design her own range of organic clothing, and having this "free" time where she is not travelling all around the world for photoshoots every week might give her the opportunity to do things that she's wanted to do for a while, but struggled to find the time to do.

They weren't saying she wouldn't be able to get any beauty campaigns after having the baby, they were saying she wouldn't be able to get any because of KORA.

^ Not unless you want her to do a Jourdan Dunn. ;)

That was a fierce moment and you know it.

I can see Miranda sitting front row possibly but walking? Nada. Unless Nicolas has other ideas. I don't think Miuccia would want a preggo model on her runway.

^ miranda's career has been steadily building for some years now, i don't think she'll necessarily be 'out' after having a baby, especially if she bounces back quickly. natalia's career really took off after her first pregnancy, i think miranda might experience a similar boost.

Natalia was really young just 18 or 19! Miranda is 25/26 (?)

^ yeah, i'm not saying she could go on to have an equally long-spanning career as natalia did, she was definitely one of a kind, i just think the effect could be similar--miranda's got staying power, i think, and the hype will still be there after baby.

Depends what way you look at it, I think. Is Miranda getting booked just because of the new VS trend? Or is the industry actually catching on to her? If we think she's just apart of a trend, well, it's just that; a trend... But if we step back a little bit, and view from a distance, Miranda's almost in a league of her own with this whole thing, it's almost as if she surpassed the casting stints of booking commercial girls, into actual interest within the industry.

But, as Belowen said, I don't think it's Miranda's intention to continue at such a rate after pregnancy, of course. Unlike Ale, or KK, I really can't see Miranda coming back and actually wanting to be back better then ever... she's more focused on Kora, her book, and of course starting a family... the question is not whether the industry would still be intrested but whether she will still be intrested.

That's what I'm worried about.

Personally, I think that the industry is catching onto her and she is starting the VS trend. After seeing the Prada and Jil Sander ads, I think the industry will be waiting for her to re-start her career after her bab. She is incredibly gorgeous and versitile. If I was a casting director I could honestly say I would book her for anything.

Miranda is in the Top Ten most unforgettable faces of this decade.

The Top Ten Models
Miranda Kerr

Trademarks: Dimples, green lifestyle, Orlando Bloom
Campaign coups: Victoria's Secret, Prada, Jil Sander

While we're on the subject of Angels, let us direct your attention to VS' sexy Aussie import Miranda Kerr. Orlando Bloom's new bride and soon-to-be baby mama was walking the Heatherette runway before she landed her contract with the lingerie giant in 2006. These days, she can't walk through the airport without getting papped. She's racked up Maybelline and Clinique spokesperson jobs in her rise to the top, but this is truly her year: She made cameos at Prada and Balenciaga's Fall shows and shot the Jil Sander and Prada campaigns before her bump got in the way. If you ask us, that's some impressive family planning.

^thank you!

lately i dont think Orlando is her trade mark, ir more like the opposite, she has more work than he lately. More like here comes Miranda and Miranda's boyfriend

Wow, that's awesome that style.com included her in such a list, they obviously believe in her longevity, and so should we. :p

And that's, honestly, where Meisel comes into the picture. :innocent:

I wouldn't be so sure. He is known for dropping models. I'd say Anna will book her for a post-baby body shoot. Miranda's like the new Elle these days. With the celeb hubby, famous name etc.

I know how Meisel is like with his models, but he needs to pick up where he left of with Miranda, at least for a successful FW 11.12 campaign season. 'cuz, if anyone can truly lift Miranda's career back up, it's him.
And, aw, I hope Anna books Miranda for a US Vogue shoot, post-pregnancy!

But will he pick up where he left off? I'm not so sure.

Thanks.^_^

I'm not sure either. The optimistic side of me is very hopeful. *crosses fingers*

You're welcome. :flower:

I didnt mean to be harsh in my earlier post, but it takes a while to build the type of momentum Kerr has been enjoying this year and a fantastic runway season would have cemented her in the fashion stratosphere. I understand life sometimes intervenes and family should always come first...but fashion has a notoriously short memory. We'll just have to wait and see if her career can bounce back to the same level post pregnancy which I truly hope it will.

^ I see what you're saying but Miranda is not on the same path as the typical model, even if she wasn't pregnant I doubt if she would have walked a ton of shows. What's going to seal the deal for Miranda is how the magazines with her face on the cover sell and how the campaigns that she fronts perform (I'm drawing a blank, did she have an OG this season?), if they do well, and if it is what she wants, then she's a keeper. I agree with the point that it is Anna Wintour along with other editors and also interest from designers who are going to determine Miranda's destiny more than Meisel. If she becomes a Meisel muse, that is icing on the cake.

To be honest I kinda wish she'd do a prego cover like Demi Moore, but they kinda got cheesy and cheap after Brittany Spears did it. I just think she'd pull it off tastefully and still look gorgeous. I think that's gone out of trend now though. Plus she seems so private.

It sounds like she's been preparing for the shortness of her career though. She's always saying in interview how it's a short lived career and "when this is all over" etc. Probably why she's been building kora and writing a book.
