Marissa Cooper (Mischa Barton)
The O.C.
Marissa Cooper, clear-skinned, privileged, and often vacant California teenager, died of injuries sustained in a bizarre accident after the automobile in which she was a passenger was run off a desolate road by a crazed ex-boyfriend. (As she lived in outsized drama, so she died.) Cooper is survived by her vixen mother Julie, absentee father Jimmy, and rapidly maturing sister Kaitlin. As for the series that begat her, it remains on life support.

I think she should stop wearing skinny jeans. They're not very flattering to her hips.

i dont think its necessarily the skinny jeans, i think its the short sweatshirt thats throwing the whole thing off. with her body type, if shes going to wear skinny jeans, she needs to wear a longer shirt that covers up her hips.

Yes very beautiful , she must be a designers dream to dress for event because she can carry off any gown beautifully. My favorite was the red YSL she wore with the bow and the nude Galliano gown she wore.

Mischa Barton steps out with boyfriend Cisco Adler at Beverly Hills restaurant La Scala on Wednesday. The actress has a slew of films on the way in the new year, including the drama Virgin Territory, costarring Hayden Christensen.

Chic Chignon

Unlike a standard bun, Mischa Barton’s off-center knot “has more volume, so it fills out the nape of the neck instead of looking like a doorknob,” says Garrison. It's as loose and beautiful as if she just created the coif herself.

Get the Look

First build volume and texture with a spray gel and blow-dryer. Then part the hair from ear to ear to create front and back sections. Pull the back part into a low off-center ponytail, tease it and pin it into a sizable, loose bun. Now tease the front section, part it to the side, maintaining a soft side-swept effect, and wrap it loosely around the existing bun using bobby pins to secure it. Finish with a light spray of Nexxus Comb Thru finishing mist ($11; cvs.com).
