Because think about it, Marissa was from Newport Beach and was in no way British. Most Americans would have a horrible fake British accent, in my opinion.

... Wow, I had no idea that all of us were critics here. Her accent was supposed to be phony, seeing as a line by the boy she was talking to in the scene says that he did his junior year abroad at Oxford and that he didn't buy her phony accent 'for a second.'

After catching boyfriend Cisco Adler's band, Whitestarr, at the ultra-sexy Hotel Victor, Mischa Barton and Nicole Richie headed over to the Setai for the second night of a weekend-long fete to usher in 2006. Lindsay Lohan, Leonardo DiCaprio, and Sean Combs were among the revelers who got a jump on the festivities, stopping by the famed art deco hotel the night before New Year's Eve. This year's Setai celebration is shaping up to be just as big; host Jessica Alba is slated to ring in 2007 with Benjamin McKenzie and Hilary Duff.
