April 2012.

British-American actress Mischa Barton launched her eponymous handbag label in 2008. Now in its eighth season, the brand releases its debut clothing offer and opens its first flagship store in London’s Spitalfields district this spring.

I knew I\'d made it when... the paparazzi chased me incessantly.

The person who influenced me the most was... my mum.

You wouldn\'t know it, but I\'m really interested in... music and art.

When the weekend comes I... go on hikes and take care of my dogs.

Growing up I wanted to be... an actress, or somehow involved in fashion.

The thing I want to do before I retire is... travel the world. I love seeing different cultures and places.

I spent my first pay packet on… clothes – even as a little girl I had a love of fashion.

Doing this job allowed me to meet... a lot of very special people and pursue other creative endeavours such as my bag and clothing collections.

If I wasn\'t doing this I\'d be... involved in the arts in some capacity.

The reason I still get up in a morning is... because I have so much creative passion.

It\'s because of this job I drive a... Mercedes Benz.

I treat myself by... being pampered in a spa and nail salon.

I wish I could resist... chocolate – it’s my guilty pleasure.

My unfulfilled ambition is... having a family one day.

When I\'ve retired I want people to say... that I always did my best.

Beautiful actress Mischa Barton made a name for herself and weaved her way into our hearts playing “Marissa Cooper” on The O.C.

Almost ten years later, the actress and fashion designer has launched her first fashion and beauty venture, Mischa’s Place! Along with a fabulous bohemian fashion collection, Mischa Barton presents a new range of skincare and makeup.

In this month’s Beauty Box, you are treated to Luscious Lips; a hydrating lip protector with a beautiful hint of classic colour. This luxurious gloss combination protects with SPF 15 and hydrates with vitamins to make your lips extra kissable.

We took some time out to get to know Mischa a little bit better, and learn more about her “beauty dos!”

- I like to write and draw in my sketchbook
- I follow a strict cleansing and toning beauty regime

- A California sunset

Name 5 things you find beautiful in you?
I find this is difficult to answer but I think inner beauty is the most important thing a person can have.

Favourite beauty product of all time and why?
- I love the entire Benefit range.

When it comes to the scent of a product – what kind of fragrance are you drawn to?
I like scent to be subtle and under-stated. I go for a clean fresh fragrance.

What kind of “beauty secrets” do you swear by? Any unusual ones?
I love to make a Kiwi Facial Cleanser – it consists of kiwi fruit, plain yogurt, orange water, almond oil, honey, ground almonds, and citrus essential oil.

How about “beauty regrets”?
Probably not always having an amazing moisturizer with sunblock.

Because you’ve spent your life in the public eye, you are constantly under scrutiny: how would you advise other women to deal with the judgement of others?
Be strong in who you are and just don’t not worry about other people’s opinions.

How does your personal style compliment your makeup and vice versa?
Depending on the occasion, I try to compliment the colors and style of my outfits to my make-up.

What was the process of creating your own beauty products for Mischas Place like?
Lots of research goes into the development of any kind of cosmetic. Everything is tested to make sure its the highest of quality and I try everything myself. The fun part is choosing the colour ranges!
