VS already has an Asian girl, Jarah Mariano 
And as much as I adore Mo, I don't see her in VS. Besides, isn't VS too "low brow" for most models here???

just making myself clear, it's not victorias secret i associate with 'beautiful' (i rather think vs models are the most insipidly boring models if i ever saw one), i was just talking about her lithe arms and perfect upper body, and how it looks under the sun to be exact.ecec said:yeah totally. thats victoria secret material.sethii said:beautiful in the last pic above ^

well VS & haute couture arent exactly virtually exclusive, if you look at some of the biggest mods like Eugenia V who've conquered both worlds. i can see Mo doing it just cuz she has quite a commercial, easily appreciatable face & multiethnic look that blends the east & west. of course i hope she doesnt fall into being solely the VS type but its not unfathomable when Next produces a lot of said faces.
^ well, i have to say i am a bit worry about her in the north american market, i mean like what people prefer an Asian women to look like is very diff from wandan MM. i can see her with place like levis or gap or even agent provocateur (typo?!) but making into north american market would be probably very hard for her, esp with her multiethnic face while she is not truly multiethnic. she can easily accused of being "white-washed".
only way she can make her mark (as youre right, her multiethnic look is both an advantage & a setback) is to announce her top model status back home w/ the europe/american market, to say 'if you want to break the chinese market she is the spokesperson', otherwise she'd be lost in the crowd cuz westerners are lukewarm towards mixed looking girls. but i think she'll do well in NY cuz people there are less influenced by european trends & more open to use unknown girls.

今天看博客的留言，经博友提醒才发现竟然没有把我五月到上海拍摄倍耐力的花絮放上来，真是大意了。不过现在马上补上。
这个倍耐力年历说来可还真是有来头呢。倍耐力本来是世界最出名的轮胎生产厂商，公司每年投资拍摄享有盛誉的年历，这个年历不仅每年都请世界各地最当红的明 星名模来参与拍摄而且此年历是限量发行，只提供给欧洲王室成员和社会名流哦，所以可想而知我能参与拍摄是多么荣幸的一件事呀，呵呵
先给大家看看我们这次年历拍摄的明星吧呵呵

She's typically this beautiful as her features are very southern Chinese. The Chinese race is considered have the greatest gene pools, 1.4 blln combinations to choose from. As a result foreigners don't expect that the models are so beautiful and diverse looking, and they assume that they must be filipinos, koreans, japanese, or malaysian. But we in the know that her Chinese beauty has not been touched and she is purely Han Chinese for Guanzhou. She should at those customers big time next time they she her that "CHINESE MODELS ARE THE MOST BEAUTIFUL IN THE WORLD" AND THAT WILL GET THEIR ATTENTION!!!!!

she basically announced her career plan, which to a lot of us would be a bummer, because as she said very explicitly, “在这里，我要明确地说：我今后的工作重点将一直在国内，而且代言的产品以国产品牌为主。” that the market in which she will work will strictly be china, endorsing chinese brands, etc.
this is very clearly not out of pride or whatever silly things, it's a logical progression for a very top model that simply cannot jeopardize the height of her career for an european/american stint - she's simply overwhelmed with contracts/shoots/work back home to consider long term concentration in the West.
her manager said a bunch of head people from either IMG or Next came over trying to persuade or having talks with them to get Mo to sign with them, saying she'd no doubt be amongst the top models if she dabbled in the intl market, but that since the chinese model industry is 20 yrs behind the West there is no way she could be recognized if staying home bound.
so there's a tug of war between her extremely controlling & profit driven (*cough* greedy & assbackwards) chinese agency and the western agency(s). the former knows that majority of their revenue & livelihood as a company depends on the income Mo generates. like last yr she raked in several contracts worth at least few million yuan. so of course theyre not willing to let her leave for what would be full-on dedication under IMG as people like Du Juan & Pei Bei had done.
so in conlusion, dont expect Mo to walk for top designers with actual ounce of innovation but do expect her blog in the future to be inundated with pictures of brand promotions for toothpaste, cameraphone, and jewelry companies.
ah well. it was fun while it lasted. time to sign off thread.
