Model Name Pronunciation

I'm not sure how the r in French sounds... but if you do not pronounce Channukah as Hannukah then that is indeed how to pronoune it! And about that blog I mentioned, I had the link but didn't paste it... so now I lost it :(

^yes, channukah is pronounced the same as hannukah. thanks! :) speaking of which, Happy (C)hannukah everyone!!! :flower:

I'm pretty sure it's Dey-wi Dree-gan.

What about Agyness?

LOL, it's just Ag-ness. Her real name is Agnes and she's English. She just changed the spelling. Her real name is Agnes Hollins  ;)

Haha, my Danish friend taught me this! It's Fry-uh Bee-uh, except the Danish R is like German, it's a weird hacking sound, that I learned how to do! I was so excited

Well, I ment that it sounds correct when NOT pronounced as Hannukah, but in the tradition Jiddish language.... but, it's too hard to explain really... noone's hurt when you pronounce it with an English g, so :p

Actually, Hanukkah isn't pronounced like Chanukkah. At least not to my knowledge. Hanukkah is softer and Chanukkah is supposed to sound like you are clearing your throat almost.

Roslyakova (is it Rose-lee-AH-koh-vah or Rose-lee-uh-koh-vuh?)
Anouck (Ahn-ook?)
Ajuma Nasenyana (???)
Agniezska (Ahn-yay-skuh?)
Dovile Virsilaite (I don't even know where to begin!)

Since Hanukkah/Chanukkah/Chanukah are just different spellings of the same word, I'm pretty sure they're pronounced the same way.

Dutch names can be tricky. What about..

Truus Hooiveld?
Rosanne Doosje?

ok, my guesses:

Roslyakova - Ross-lee-ah-ko-vah (all the vowels very short)
Anouck - I think you're right!
Ajuma - Ah-dschoo-muh (I have no idea about the last name  )
Agniezska - ah-nyay-shkuh ('zs' is 'sh' in Hungary...)

oh here the easiest version
"Doo Joo-i'an"
the one i underlined is the trasition tone between oo and ee. the easiest way to find that sounds to say "oo" first , and then gradually bring ur tougne upward until it hits the roof/top or ur mouth which u should be pronouncing "ee" at the end.... and the "oo-i" (it would be yue in mandarin) sound be sounded more closed to the "ee" part///
and the "an" just rhyme with "can"

I want to ask about some new girls. It's best to learn early before you get too used to say in your own wrong way. :D

Alyona Osmanova - I think I know pronounciation, but where is stress, is it OS-ma-nova or Os-MA-nova?
Lucia Dvorska - how do you say her first name? LU-sia?
Ida Ågrahn - ?
Laragh [McCann] - ?
Giedre Dukauskaite - ?
Dei Auruskeviciute - huh?
