I'm not sure how the r in French sounds... but if you do not pronounce Channukah as Hannukah then that is indeed how to pronoune it! And about that blog I mentioned, I had the link but didn't paste it... so now I lost it

Actually, Hanukkah isn't pronounced like Chanukkah. At least not to my knowledge.
