can anyone explain how a model switches? does she tell the agency she wants to go to that she'd like to move or ask her own agency?curious..
there are many different cases possible.
Firstly, this topic often amuse me, as i consider than 80% of the post here would be better places in a topic called "dead horses switching agencies"

I mean many girls just dont book anything anymore, so in these case, the agency she leaves will not fight hard to keep her and she is more or less free to go to any agency interested to give her a new chance.
But fact is, that in most case...except a post in this topic these are "non event" that nobody care in the business.
for girls on the rise or still working, it is more delicate. Or agency can poach in the strong way, expecting no big reaction from the agency who lost, or even if reaction, to count on the slowness of any official procedure which can be started.
The agency working in that way are known, but fortunatly some other big agencies absolutely dont use at all that way of working.
Or between agencies, money deal can be arranged which satisfied everybody.
Or very often, the switch depends a lot of the mother agency of the model, and in this case the agency who lost can not do much, as most placement contract give the right to the mother agency to change the agency to represent the girl.
