Models Switching Agencies

that mainly depends where they start and how they start.
Woman europe "head scouting" is the Milan office. girls found by the european scouting will usually start in Milan. In case in does not start there as expected, the can be signed women worldwide, fact is that she probably will never be sent to NY before to get some real success in europe, so NY has no reason to promote the girl yet.

Aso keep in mind that unfortunately, Milan push to sign the girls worlwide, but sometimes Women NY is not that interested by the girl...that's the big disadventadge to sign in a network. if all starts well it can great and fast, if it starts wrong u can be stuck with a world contract but to have office in NY who even dont want to hear about you...

Thank you, I was thinking something like this, but you totally cleared that up with more details... Too bad for those girls

How long do agency contracts last? Or are there even legal agreements between girls and agencies to begin with? It seems like girls and agencies part ways all the time, which lead me to believe these contracts aren't so binding at all.

On that word. Any updates on where Polina Sova and Hyoni Kang ended up? Are they still with Ford?
If true then I'd love for them both to go receive the Paul Rowland treatment that the ex-Supreme girls had. I think with the right kind of push, they really could benefit from this switch.

ax80: Hyoni and Polina are both on the main "Ford" image board under Paul Rowland.

As for girls signed with "Women worldwide", often the scout for the Women network (Andrea Dantona) will sign a girl but recommend to the mother agent that they start them (develop) in Paris or Milan. Often a girl will go to New York to meet with Women and if the NY offices decline, she will go to Milan or Paris to test and build a portfolio in hopes that the next time she comes around they will sign her in NY. Also, often models will be signed in New York but never show up on the website / brought to NY, instead they are held on a "development" board/roster/radar -- ie: you're gorgeous and we see your potential and we are interested in representing you, but we feel you need to (potentially) develop your portfolio, gain experience, grow up a bit, gain height, grow in your hair and eyebrows, learn the language, etc. This is often for girls who with time will grow into stars. It's definitely on a girl by girl basis. Some girls have that instant star quality/charisma and they can be thrown into the market and get moving (ie: Rose Cordero), but even girls like Jac Jagaciak spent a few years in Asia developing as a model (read: growing up) while being retained by IMG "Worldwide."

In major markets like NYC, Paris, Milan, contracts are generally negotiated for 2-3 years and renewed every year after unless terminated. Though with any legal contract, with enough notice, a model can break their contract and/or be released from them. Most models have mother agents to negotiate their contracts and do their "dirty work." Modeling contracts essentially serve as exclusivity agreements, ie: you may only be represented by 1 agency per market, though other things are touched upon: maintaining certain measurements, commission (for model and mother agent), that the model is responsible for their own taxes/they are their own business, models agree to conduct themselves with dignity, have no intention of harming or injuring the reputation of the agency, to not be under the influence of any illegal substances whilst working (no impairment)... etc, etc.

I've tried to reach the site for Major NYC for a couple of days now; it is offline but the blog is still there. Anyone know what's up with the agency?

The 2-3 year contracts with mother agents are binding, or at least most girls don't have the experience and lawyers to get out of them. If girls aren't happy they have to provide the notice required to cancel the automatic annual renewal.

The mother agents sign contracts with the agencies in major markets. The mother agents can get out of these contracts using various methods, but at the expense of losing future dealings with the agency, which might be only worth it for a major model. Models are sometimes affected by their mother agent pulling another model, and killing the relationship with an agency that suits her very well.

^ I was thinking the same when I read this  I mean, Silent is pretty known for the "exclusive" treatment of their girls...

They offer motheragencies to represent their models also worldwide even though they are based in Paris. It's like Madisyn Ritland or Anna Selezneva (?). They didn't have agencies in Milan and NYC as Silent represented worldwide i think.
