Models Switching Agencies

Her original agencies were Select in London, Marilyn in NY & Paris and I'm not sure about who she was with in Milan.

Lily Donaldson :IMG London > Storm Models
IMG Paris >
IMG Milan>

Maybe she's moving to Women's worldwide network. It's odd she would be dropping out of IMG's other agencies if she's staying with IMG in NYC and if she's leaving IMG, Women is the only agency I can see her going to...unless Ford is continuing to snare girls fr. other agencies.

Not sure if this has been posted, and I don't think it happened too recently.

Natasha Belobrovik: Ford NY --> Major NY

Chanel Iman Ford NY ---> Supreme

Flavia De Oliveira Ford NY ---> Supreme

Fabiana Semprebom Ford NY ---> Supreme

Sara Ziff : DNA > Im assuming she is still with them , but they pulled her of the website?
Charlotte Pallister : DNA >

could someone explain to me the key points of moving agencies? as in what makes a model want to move from a boutique agency to a bigger agency or vise-versa?
also HOW does a model do this? do they speak to their current agency and tell them they want to move then find another???

well its funny b/c she was actually first with Supreme, then she moved to Women, then disappeared for 1 year, then re-appeared at Supreme now (which is basically Ford in my mind)

good question.

there are a few models that are constantly switching agencies. i'm surprised agencies are accepting them. the model will probably drop them within a matter of weeks for another agency.

this has been discussed many times in the previous pages;)

When the move is to a "bigger" agency, it can have some sense. The biggest agencies have the closest link with the bigger clients. there are some shows, some magazines covers which are clearly "private territory" of just the few biggest agencies in every cities. So if the girl has the potential and is an agency who has some limitations about that, a move can be interesting.

a lot of the moves posted in this topic are move or just due to "people" decisions, like for example mother agencies changing its favourite partners agencies, in this case there is of course no strategy directly linked to the model, just business deals between agencies.

Or it concerns girls not really money maker anymore, who think that to change agency is going to improve things even if usually it does not.
it is not a big problem for girls in that situation to find agencies, as for a girl with experience already, there is zero investment for another agency to try a bit more, usually not much to win, but also nothing to loose at trying...

Another people related example is if her agent / booker moves to another agency.

Can you give some examples of shows and magazines that represent a "private territory" relationship - I believe you I just would like some examples.

One that I remember hearing about is Karl Lagerfeld and NEXT - of course it does not apply 100% because I know that some of his favorites like Freja, Iris and recently Natasha are not with Next, but I think he gets a lot of his "chorus line" models from NEXT.

I wouldn't be surprised if old Supreme (nuFord?) had relationships with, if not designers then casting directors.

What else?

Me neither! I remeber one, rather small, show during F/W10 that seemed (with 2 or 3 exceptions) full of Supreme girls.
And haven't there been rumours about Givenchy especially cooperting with one single agency? Not exclusively though. (Forgot which agency, but I could be mixing things up now anyway so take this with a grain of salt)
