http://www.sr.se/cgi-bin/jonkoping/program/index.asp?ProgramID=2281

She doesn't sound one bit like I expected her to.

I stumbled upon the site while googling around. Maybe someone here can translate what she's saying? :flower:

This is half the interview.... I dont now if my English does it.... If you want, I can translate the rest as well!!!

"Mona:
Well It started in Scandinavium (a big arena i Gothenburg) on the horse show and then a scout came to me and ask how tall I was and stuff like that and ask If a wanted to be a model, first of all. And then I get their number and I gave them my number and then they called back after a couple of days.

question:
So it all started with horses?

Mona:
(laughs) Yes, it did!

Q
How old was you then?

Mona:
I must have been 14 years old

Q
And what happend then?

Mona:
I started to work here in Sweden beside school... travelled to Stockholm and did some test-shoots, and went to Gothenburg and stuff like that

Q
Apperntly it went well

Mona:
(laughs) Yes, It did!
And then I went to Milano and did some work. It wasn't anything big or special but it was the first thing a did "on real". And then I came home and in october last year I went to London and it was then everything relly started.I got the "real" jobs.

Q
Then you were only 17 or to be more true 16 and almost 17. How about school?

Mona:
I took a year off and I planned to start school now, but I skip it - I have a chance now and I need to take it, it wont come again.

Q
You went to Milano in the age of 16-17... I belive that your mother had a sometinhg to say

Mona:
She was about worried what i should do down there, none of us really knew what the job was all about. Everything in Sweden was so easy, the agency did everything... but it all worked out.

Q
But wasn't you scared/worried

Mona
A bit, but you get use to it. Theres things to do all the time and theres no time to think about it

Q
I have read that its a hard life in fashion -wild parties, drugs, late nights etc

Mona
It happens. But agency is very strict on this point and tells you that you wont get jobs when you to castings and looks like you been out all night. You have to watch yourself

Q
And about the food; not dare to eat because you will put some extra weight on?

Mona
I love food! And will always do that! But sure theres is models that goes on diet all time but that doesnt work in the end. people doesnt like when the bones appear.

Q
And now you have spent six months in paris. how did you live?

Mona
I shared an appartment with some other models.

Q
And the language?

Mona
I cant say a single word on french. but English, it works... in fashion everybody speaks English.

Q
What kind of work awaits for you?

Mona:
In october I am going to Tokyo to do an opening for a store. I did their campaing this season.

Q
Sound a bit exciting

Mona
Yes, I never been there so it gonna be fun..."

Thanks for taking the time to translate, perfect10! Karma for you! :flower:

Youre welcome everyone :flower: :flower:

BTW, I missed to write that she say that the store in Tokyo is BURBERRY BLUE LABEL

And the rest of the interview....!!!!!

Q
You have travelled a lot, have you seen more than just hotelrooms and studios?

Mona
No, not really. I have been in Barbados, Bahmas only for photoshoots...Portugal...I have seen a bit, but mostly I have been on loctionshoots. Then you travell in big truck or someting like that and then you see lot.

Q
And you take swinsuit pictures in november?

Mona
Yes, I do. I did some work outside London, by the coast in November only in a bikini. It wasn't cosy but it looks real hot on the pictures though!

Q
You had done many highstatus work for Elle, Vouge, Numero. Are you rich now?

Mona
Nah not yet... I spend much money on flighttickets and hotells and thats not cheap. And the Appartment I had in six months... that wasn't chep either!

Q
Do you do runwayshows for the big fashionhouses?

Mona
Yes, last year was it Dolce and Gabbana, Miu Miu, Luella Bartley... yes, and some more

Q
It seems to have "sharp elbows" to be at the right place at the right moment, it seems like is usual that you easy step on each other, isn't?

Mona
Not that much. At the level I am on now, the most accept that youre there. You can't comperre yourslef with others, you can't see an other as a threat. Everybody looks so diffrent. It is not that much as a problem as you sometime can hear.

Q
So you does not have any brusies on your arms after such fight?

Mona
(laughs) No, I havn't! Well if I get its only beacuse I probably falls on the catwalk or someting like that.

Q
have you ever done that?

Mona
No but I have drop my shoes X times... (laughs)

Q
What do you then?

Mona
Then you just pick them up and smiles and go back (laughs)

Q
But Mona, stand infront a cemera and look beautiful - you can't call that as a job, can you?

Mona (with a teaching voice  )
It is not only aout looking beautiful... you also have to be nice. And its hard physcial and hard psychic to hear all the critics and stuff like that...

Q
And long working shifts?

Mona
Yes. Normally you work from nine in the morning to eight in the evning, but it can be much shorter and even longer. A normal casting-day, I don't do so much casting anylonger, but then you could ran from eight in morning to ten in the late night. It all depends on what you do.

Q
Can you explain what a casting is?

Mona
Casting is when you met the costumers and show your book, show yourself and let them take picture of you to see if you right for the job.

Q
It must feel like a meatmarket sometimes, right?

Mona
Yes, sometimes it is. On casting it could be like millions of girls and you can be there for hours and you got so many appointments and then you have to met them and be nice and look fresh all the time...
(Now they flip through her book)
The pictures I have in my book is pictures from diffrent magazines and some covers...

Q
On this picture you look like a lady from the 60s that are about 40 years... Not so bad for a 17 year old...

Mona
No it is not so bad (laughs)

(ed from post #283)

Q
Svinrygg (a hairdo, I don't know a good word for it) eyeliner, and a big necklace...

Mona
Yes it was secrutias everywhere, tehy said it was worth 24 million dollar so it wasn't that weird that they had that secruity. And I was not allowed to touch it with my hands (laughs)

Q
How did feel to wear so such thing?

Mona
It felt good, actually.

Q
Nothing you wear everyday

Mona
No, not excatly

Q
Lets contuine look in you book... On this pic you look like Twiggy

Mona
It took a very long time to do this makeup...

Q
I understand that, becasue it is so much

Mona
Yes, it much

Q
And here do you look like a farmer girl...

Mona
Its from Brittsih Vouge It was my first trip to New York

Q
When I look in this book... on this pic you look like where 13 and unkissed

Mona
Mmm (laughs)

Q
You really can change you look

Mona
Its all acting infront of the camera... you have to make a huge impression on just one picture

Q
And you can flirt with the camera...

Mona
Of course.

Q
In fall you will turn 18 and your childhood friends are still in school. Do you ever miss your old life?

Mona
Sometimes yes. When it late night and you lonely in the hotellroom you miss your home. But it will allways be allright in the end (laughs)

And then interview contuines with a chat with Monas mum and tehre I stop for now. Dinner waits.:p
