Other than that, enjoy the site!

That pic was exactly the one I was looking for!OriginalSin said:haha yeah, those 2 images are definitely similar to the ad....the ad is modelled EXACTLY after this image though:

It's kinda weird to tell you the truth. I wish they'd let Mona be her own person. Like yes, the resemblance is there, we get it. We don't need to be beaten over the head with it![]()
Thank you! And you're right, I mean, I didn't really want to post the comment about the Moss resemblance because we see it all the time, but it was just so obvious this time! She may not become a very successful model because of the industry not letting her 'be her own person', like you said. No matter how much I
Kate Moss's look, Mona's is much more pure, clean and beautiful.

OriginalSin said:Well, I think that marketing tactic may have worked in terms of getting her in the door, but by not letting her do her own thing, I think it's now hurting her chances more than helping them. I could be wrong. I hope I am because I really would like to see her do more. I think she's perfectly capable of growing as a model, if only they'd let her be herself.
Well it got all of us talking about the ad didn't it???Li Ya Fan said:I don't think it works for Valentino and definitely not for Mona. Many people will probably think "how boring, they used an old pic of Kate", if they even make that connection... And for Mona, they have pushed her as Baby Kate for two years now, when it only really worked her first couple of seasons. So I agree this won't help. Unless IMG decide to give her a second push, maybe give her a different look, I guess Mona will happily go more and more commercial and make $$, before she retire and moves home to her horses.![]()
That is free publicity there. And word-of-mouth is the most powerful form of advertisement. To be honest, I don't think whether Mona is her own person or not was Valentino's main concern. I think they mainly want to promote their product. It is a business, and they got to do what they got to do to bring in the money.

I don't think there's a buzz anywhere else, really. Like I said, the general consumer will probably either find it stupid that they used an old pic of Kate, or not react to it in any particular way. It's a beautiful ad so I'm sure it will sell, my mistake to say it doesn't work for Valentino. My point was I don't think the concept itself, making a copy of the Kate pic, is helping in any way.
