I don't know if that was a good decision since IMG is well known for not launching newcomers very well but seems like Montana is an exception! Good for her!

IMG have a couple girls doing really well this runway season: Katryn Kruger, Franzi Mueller, Elza Luijendijk, and Montana.

IT WAS the catwalk moment almost derailed by a runway.

Model of the moment Montana Cox came within a whisker of missing the David Jones parade at the opening of the L'Oreal Melbourne Fashion Festival after a mad dash to the airport from the Chanel show in Paris.

The Australia's Next Top Model winner swept into Melbourne today to walk alongside fellow Aussie models Miranda Kerr, Julia Nobis and Rosemary Smith tonight.

"It's so good to be home and doing the opening show," she said.

The 18-year-old admitted she was starstruck by European stunners Karlie Kloss and Natasha Poly in her whirlwind trip to Milan and Paris, where she also paraded for Pucci, Lanvin and Dior.

"Seeing them walk on the runway I was definitely a bit starstruck."

Back in Australia until Sunday, when she returns to Milan, Cox can't wait for traditional home comforts.

"I'm so looking forward to a Sunday roast," she said.

"I really just want to be hanging out with my family and my friends."

Cox won the Foxtel reality show last October and was quickly signed by Sydney model agency Chic.

Models showcase latest trends at Melbourne Fashion Festival


A BEVY of beauties stepped out in the opening night parade of the L'Oreal Melbourne Fashion Festival, showcasing the latest autumn-winter trends from David Jones.

The power pack of Australia's top models including Montana Cox, Alexandra Agostin, Louise van de Vorst, Sam Harris, Kate Peck and Alice Burdeu sported an inspiring collection of striking new season looks.

Fashion plates in their own right, L'Oreal faces Megan Gale and Aimee Mullins, were joined by burlesque beauty Dita von Teese and stylish singers Kimbra and Tina Arena front row for the fashion spectacular.

More than 200 outfits were on show for VIPs and consumers by some of Australia's top designers including Bianca Spender, Thurley, Kirrily Johnston, Carla Zampatti and Collette Dinnigan.

While black is back in a big way, particularly in lace and leather, colour is the key for autumn winter 2012.

Magnificent jewel tones of emerald, ruby, sapphire, silver and gold featured prominently, with Harris stepping out in a spectacular silver Project D dress by Dannii Minogue.

Statuesque stunner Agostin made an impact in a David Jones traditional houndstooth patterned chic pencil skirt and cropped jacket, which is key to Carla Zampattis current collection.

Thurley's mini dresses in black and charcoal, embellished with sequins and beading, rocked the runway as well.

While Collette Dinnigan's collection oozed sultry femininity with 1940s silhouettes in navy, black and violet.

Cox captured the crowd's attention in a figure hugging black lace Lover dress.
