Some people told me that shopping in Montreal was not so good (originality, trendiness, quality...) compared to europe's : what do YOU think of it ?
I really need to know cause i plan to go there by the end of the month ( plus the montreal shopping thread seems to be kind of dead...)!

i think its may be different from person to person...

i think i can find a lof of great things here, on a smaller scale sometimes, but its just different from europe in general. not better, nor worse.

europe is like a million countries and a zillion cities, so im not sure exactly what you're comparing montreal to

i think if you're looking for high end designer brands, gucci, prada, dior, etc montreal has limited selection, but if you're into more funky (vintage, small local designers,etc), average prize clothes then you come to the right place.

it really depends on what you're looking for. example italians are the kings of haute couture yet when i go to italy i have a hard time finding cute AFFORDABLE clothes.

that's true i was not really explicit : i was generalizing... Mostly countries like spain, france....

but if you're into more funky (vintage, small local designers,etc), average prize clothes then you come to the right place.

That's exactly what i'm talking about everything that is original.... And i don't mind taking time to choose clothes as long as i find some really interesting items without necessarily splurging

Designer clothing is rare here, so if that's what you're looking for, you will prefer European cities.

Also, you can spend and entire day looking through vintage shops on St-Denis (by the Mont-Royal subway station).
