I also think it's too busy and senseless... you have mirrors and chairs, car wash brushes and street signs...? I like it because it's a random mess like his collections but I think it would have been a lot better if it was shot in an actual car wash.
I like these last few with stronger compositions and a strictly primary-color palette. Clothes are still more than trash, but as shots, they’re really strong and graphic.
Is that a Powerpuff Girls bag ?!? He really has no shame.
For me his clothes can't be part of any reality, or at least any reality with common sense and good taste. So, I just take this campaign as great fashion images. Which they are. Nobody does this kind of old-school excessive glamour like Meisel.
I've come to expect that Moschino is garish, but that there's still a market out there for this brand. That said, I love this campaign. It's fun and makes me fantasize about being in these clothes in an odd and twisted way. And isn't that what a campaign or editorial is supposed to do?
Hands down alongside my favorite campaigns of the season! The composition & setting reminds me of Dolce & Gabbana S/S 2008. Fun, colorful and more importantly, entertaining! So good. The car brushes is too cool, I love it!
Those newer campaign shots aren't half as compelling as the first, but I was completely sold on this from the minute I see it! Heck, I'd even go as far as to say (after the first shot alone), that Moschino's will be one of my most favorite campaigns of the season. I'm loving everything about it..
