I know a pre-fall is a collection to showcase what may come up for the main runway for the fall season.
And I know couture is for high-end stuff.
Am kind of confused for resort...

I think resort collection is shown during the Christmas Holiday season and into January for the many people who go away to sunny locations for vacation .

Resort, pre-fall and cruise collections are just generally, mini collections that the designers come out with in between major shows like ready-to-wear, couture, and menswear.

So resort collections, similar to pre-fall shows, are shown before the up-coming spring collections. Also note that these collections might have a complete style of their own, not acting like a "preview" for the coming shows. A perfect example, Dior.

It's certainly not my favorite editorial that Sofia & Mauro have done recently, but it's strong enough. Myf looks gorgeous though, even under all of the Galliano non-sense. There's a subtle range of expressions there that really seem to work for the story.
