Nail Polish

Can anyone recommend a color that is similar to the one Alexa is wearing in #695, I don't want to wait until October for that specific color.

^ Barry M. Mint Green or MAC Peppermint Patti (it's out of stock but can be found on eBay).

Alexa seems to be using Chanel quite often. Is it a decent brand to buy? The colors are so sweet, but I want to know if it dries quickly. And how much (in USD) should I expect to pay for a bottle?

I have a couple of Chanel polishes, and to be honest, unless you are really in love with a color, I would skip them and try to find dupes from OPI or China Glaze. Chanel polishes are way overpriced, and the formula is so thin, it chips quicker than any polish I've ever used.

About China Glaze and drying fast - so it doesn't try too fast, right? I've found that many nail polishes, especially cheaper ones dry too fast and so when you're trying to layer some coats or even just put on the first coat on a nail it gets clumpy fast.

No, it doesn't dry too fast, it gives you enough time to coat and fix any mistakes. It's really my new favourite!

As for Chanel nail polishes, the colours are fantastic, but I agree with the previous poster: the quality lacks. They chip extremely easily. OPI is a bit better on chipping, but still, it chips more than China Glaze.

I was curious as to how you girls all store your nail polish? Mine are all thrown in an old old purse I don't use anymore haha :$ :$ But I really want to get some sort of storage container for them but I didn't want those heavy duty type boxes. Is it bad if the bottle is not standing upright?

I really do not think it will effect your nail polishes but I would double check that the bottles are closed correctly because you do not want them to leak.

can anyone please help me identify the shade of this nailpolish at all :flower:..... source:grazia.com.au

I have OPI Hey Get in Lime (recommended to me in this thread!!) & it looks very, very similar. The color is amazing, I'm completely in love with it. It's identical to the MAC peppermint patty which is sold out, & it's cheaper too.

So overall, is China Glaze a good brand? I'm thinking of getting this polish

but I've never used the brand & I'm not familiar with the quality.

China Glaze polishes are great! It's not a drugstore brand, and to me, in terms of quality it's on a par with OPI.
Like OPI, they have a wide color selection, with several nice and unique shades.

With a top coat on, the polish usually lasts at least 3, sometimes 4, days before chipping begins.

For Audrey, Ruby Pumps, and their holographic polish colors (like Kaleidoscope Him Out and OMG) seem to be their biggest hits.

My only "problem" with China Glaze is that I haven't found a great nude, or light pink, that I like from them. They have them, but I don't find them as appealing as OPI's, Essie's, and Misa's (an awesome, though not as popular nail polish brand that I recommend everyone to check out). :flower:

i just found a really old mint colored nailpolish by sally hansen that i ve had since my teenage yrs, that s exactly like the one on the pic

About storing nail polishes, I have this "Minikommode" from IKEA.^_^

I just use a plastic shoebox-it works fine for me. It's overflowing now, of course...

I've read you should store nail polish bottles upright. When you lay them on their sides, it is more difficult to shake the pigments back together.

is sephora by OPI nail polish around the same quality as OPI's own line?
As far as quality, I think they are pretty much the same.

°Isa, that storage is pretty nice and I love Ikea and it's prices so I know it is affordable.

The ladies of Scrangie.com, PolishAddict.com, and AllLacqueredUp.com were given an awesome opportunity to create their own nail polish shades with Rescue Beauty Lounge.

A look at All Lacquered Up and Scrangie's shades:
Left: "MISMAS" by All Lacquered Up; Right: "Scrangie" by Scrangie:

MISMAS looks like it might have a cheaper alternative, so I probably won't buy it. But Scrangie's----yes, I'm totally buying it. :woot::heart:

I'm looking forward to seeing The Polish Addict's shade. I could be wrong, but I have a feeling that it might be a spectacular shade of green. ^_^

The collection launches in September. The polishes retail for $18 and can be purchased online at RescueBeauty.com
