Nail Polish

I am another fan of OPI nail polish. I was so happy when I walked into ULTA a couple of weeks ago and found a nice bright yellow (Need Sunglasses?)--just what I was looking for.

I also like China Glaze. They have a lot of nice brights, which I've been really taken with lately.

If anyone else was looking for a nice shimmery pink nail polish as well, I went though my nail polish box and finally found one! Its Tony & Tina Under-standing. It was included in a 6 piece nail polish set.. Tony & Tina is no longer around but you can find the full set on ebay easily (I got mine at TJ Maxx about 2 years ago). All of the colors are pretty nice in that set and they are long lasting. This pink is ultra pigmented and glistens really nicely. Glad I finally found it..

barry m has great nail polish, and I find it lasts just as long as Revlon, OPI

My favorite nailpolishs are from Nars, OPI and Chanel. They have the best colors and quality.

I might get Opi on Collins Road from the South Beach collection...

From the South Beach collection, I'm considering Suzi & the Life Guard and Sand in My Suit.

does anyone have any suggestions for things to make prevent chipping/peeling of my actual NAILS?

some of the nails on my right hand have gotten a bit brittle and the top layer will start to split/peel off... if that makes sense...

i've been using essie's 3way glaze (basically base coat/top coat/strengthener) and i think it might be helping but didn't know if there was anything else that i should try...

I've noticed a dramatic decrease in peeling by taking a daily multi-vitamin, taking biotin, and eating more vegetables. (I was slacking on vitamins before). I've also been keeping my cuticles, and hands, moisturized.

If you're looking for specific products to use, there's Nail Tek and Nail-Aid.

i'm thinking you're probably right about the multi-vitamin thing...
i eat vegetables but who can keep track of what "enough" is...

thanks... you pretty much confirmed what i was already sort of thinking was the problem :flower:

Your welcome.

I just realized that I didn't give the exact products, only the brand names.
The actual products are Nail Aid Peeling Nail and Nail Tek II Intensive Therapy.

perhaps some fish oil might help you chrissy? it's good for skin, hair & nails. you can get it in capsule form (and you take it orally) :flower:

Evening primrose oil is supposed to be good for nails & hair ... I've tried it & thought I saw some improvement.

chrissy- my hairstylist (who is a close friend actually) told me to take biotin, as someone else mentioned...
( you can get the vitamins at any local drugstore)..

it's good for brittle hair and nails...
another friend got the same recommendation from someone else....
she's been taking it longer than me and i can tell what a difference it made...
so it's a big incentive for me to remember to take mine each day...
i am definitely seeing a difference...

good luck...:flower:

I have the same problem as Chrissy, and I bought some biotin but I've been inconsistent taking it so now I'm going to make more of an effort!

Any info about this grey nail polish at Matthew Williamson show? I loved it!!
