i actually saw Naima on the streets a month ago in NYC's union sq. she's quite short for a model but shes soooo beautiful. that day, she had her hair in curls on top of her head with some honey brow highlights. she dresses quite simply with a little punk rock. on that same day, i also saw Yoanna. this woman is SOOO gorgeous!! her face was just perfect. big glittery eyes, big pink pout, cute slim nose... she was carrying a cream and tan Luella bag. then later that day i saw Jay Manuel (i know, the worst day to forget my camera) he's so tall! he was walking around like a supermodel. exudes great confidence. surprisingly, i saw all of them separately. i guess tyra banks' production company is in union sq or something

I think they are decent coming from a mag like that. I just wish she could change her hair and get work for a real fashion mag.

Umm. I never thought I'd say this about ANTM, but the pictures they did on the show look better than anything else she's done.

Naima has a Black mother with some Irish ancestry, and a biracial Black/Mexican father.

I agree, even the campy ANTM pics look better than these. But I attribute that more to the type of publications she's appeared in than to her. I mean, if she appeared in Elle or Vogue, in real fashion editorials, I think they'd be more interesting.

As far as the show itself, I think it's ridiculous for any of the girls to think they could step off the set and become a real "Top Model" immediately. But they do get some experience, exposure, and a lot of them get signed. So at the very least, the show provides the vehicle for some to jumpstart a modeling career they may not have had otherwise.
