Naoki Komiya began his career in hair training as a hairdresser in his hometown of Tokyo, Japan. After eight years honing and developing his skills Naoki took the decision to move to London to pursue a career in the creative industry here and was quickly taken on by an East London based salon.
It wasn't long before Naoki began to look outside of the salon for other opportunities to work with hair and began assisting Paul Hanlon, working with him on the shows across Europe and in New York. After witnessing the limitless possibilities for a session hair stylist and the potential to use hair as a form of expression and way to be creative Naoki started testing with friends that were photographer and stylists getting small stories placed in publications such as I-D and Dazed & Confused.
The Spring of 2010 saw Naoki join Julian Watson Agency. Dictated by a hunger for creativity Naoki regularly shots for magazines such as US Vogue, 10 Magazine, Arena Homme +, Interview and V-Man with commercial clients including Hermes, Pringle and Bergdorf Goodman.
