Can't wait!

Charlotte Rampling Named New Face of Nars

ANNIVERSARY DAYS: Charlotte Rampling has another project in the works: She’s the new face of Nars, which is gearing up for its 20th anniversary in September. According to brand executives, Rampling will appear in a “black-and-white portrait-style image” shot by founder and creative director François Nars. Rampling was chosen, in part, because she has been one of Nars’ muses. “She is a natural beauty that feels strong, yet relatable,” Nars told WWD. “Charlotte’s ability of transformation is unparalleled. Whether captured in pieces of artwork, through the lens of a magazine photographer or on film and the big screen, she had an amazing power to encompass a character.”

Nars went on to say Rampling’s “strength of character” and artistic talents make her a perfect fit for the brand. “I remember Dirk Bogarde referencing Charlotte’s ‘fabled look’ because of the combination of her beauty and withering gaze,” he said. “This is what makes her an endlessly watchable mystery.”

Brillant! Hurray for all these make up brands using older models/celebrities to face their campaigns.

I wonder what will it sales, it has been my experience that most women don't wan't the look like a beautiful older woman they want to look young

What's taken these companies so long.., I saw her in Jeune et Jolie some weeks ago and it's incredible the impact she still has on screen (and probably in real life).

First Jessica Lange for Marc Jacobs, and now Charlotte Rampling for Nars. I'm loving it.

Perfect !! She clearly knows how to deliver a great shot so I can't wait for the campaign to come out.

ahhh cant Jessica and her just be in a beauty campaign together? that would be epic!

Great news! Really looking forward to this collaboration.

It's here

THE BIG SHOT: Nars has unveiled its fall Audacious Lipstick Collection campaign as part of the company’s 20th anniversary, featuring a portrait of British actress Charlotte Rampling that François Nars took. Nars, a known cinephile, often references movies in his collections and product names. He had been a longtime fan of the actress. “Charlotte’s ability to transform is unparalleled,” he said. “Whether captured in pieces of artwork, through the lens of a magazine photographer or on the big screen, she has an amazing power to encompass a character, ” he said. He photographed Rampling in New York, enlisting artist James Kaliardos for makeup and hairstylist Didier Malige.

She looks kind of terrible and not like herself. I'm disappointed.
