but VS is a one trick pony for me, even Natasha was at VS for 3 yrs
but glad she left because she never would have made it it big

I find it really insulting for the Top Models. Victoria's Secret is Commercial/Mainstream therefore Easy but HF is different

Oh really, so commercial / mainstream modeling is easy, so is that why commercial models get paid six / seven figures for their work and high fashion models get paid five / six figures for theirs?

It was cool and all that Natasha did the Dolce & Gabbana press conference and not to take anything away from that but that is the kind of stuff Candice, Alessandra, Adriana do in their sleep. It may not be your personal cup of tea, but walking down a runway in an arena full of people in your drawers and knowing that you will be watched by millions more on TV is not an easy thing to do and for most would be more nerve-wracking than walking in a salon or auditorium in Paris or Milan.

you have to maintain poise, at the same time not to overpower the designers walk, HF Models are dynamic you dont see them blowing kisses and strutting their butts. But I dont wanna go further as this will be off topic for Natasha

some of you guys really are annoying... TFS says i'm gone for 5 hours, i come back with the expectation of her showing up at salvatore ferragamo, hence the 2 new pages. and is only you guys arguing over VS. VS and HF are two completely different worlds. but we all know that all the models like doing both work. even natasha said she loved doing the VS show. so i support her in what ever she wants to do. and i honestly think that the main power that VS used to have helped natasha launch her carreer to what it is today...

I started writing my post and then got sidetracked, so I will post this here and if there is any follow up relating to VS or HF vs. commercial modeling, I will post it elsewhere.

Well there is a reason that high fashion models are called clotheshangers, because a significant amount of the work they do is more about their bodies than their actual skill. A lot of the distinction in high fashion is about designers, photographers, editors and stylists as opposed to the models, although I will be the first to admit that HF models contribute far more than they are given credit for and they get treated crappily in a number of big and small ways. I have already given the money example, let me just throw in another thing, if high fashion is so difficult and specialized then why are there seventeen year olds with a few months experience on the covers and pages of Vogue and sadly, why are there models with far less experience and talent than Natasha booking more campaigns and shows than she is, because I doubt if she is being selective or resting, JMHO.

Do some VS models wink, wave and blow kisses? Yeah, and it's anyone's prerogative to not like it and to find it cheesy and tacky, but what does that have to do with their modeling skills or lack thereof? What about when when Galliano has his dragalicious models laughing maniacally or throwing confetti(?) in the air or when Gaultier's models puff on cigars or do whatever the hell Sasha was doing in his last RTW show or when a couple of Armani models twirl or when Karl has a model parade around in a lion's head or have models cavort around in the hay or when Anna Wintour has models dancing on a bus... oh yeah, all that is artistic and classy, right?

The best Milan show so far! Natasha's opening and leading the model army, Vlada closing the show, and Sasha being there as well. I couldn't ask for more!
I just wanna comment on the VS thingy (sorry just can't help myself), I think they're intimidated by Nata (for so many obvious reasons) thus one of them tried to outshine her. Nonetheless, it feels a bit weird seeing them doing an HF show. Peace!

I'm really curious to see what shows Natasha does in Paris. Hopefully she opens Chanel, that would be friggin amazing.
Even if that meant her being an exclusive for Chanel and not doing any other shows.

Sasha on the other hand is the one making up for her absences
does that mean Sasha opens Chanel again.lets she is he welcomes her back

Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana asked model Natasha Poly to present and explain the mood of their signature collection. The video appears on the designers’ online magazine, Swide, and on YouTube.



“It’s more spontaneous for someone else to talk about our clothes and Natasha knows us really well. She’s a friend and she has modeled for us so many times,” Gabbana explained Sunday morning. “Now some of our other girls want to do it and they will, later in the day,” he added.

I love the last line, while the other girls present themselves to do it, Natasha was asked by Domenico and Stefano to do it in behalf of them.
