natasha poly's fashion week diary
Early start today. I have Michael Kors, Richard Chai, and Narciso Rodriguez shows. I'm heading uptown to Bryant Park, where the first two shows of the day will take place. Thankfully, the sun is shining.
Heading backstage at Michael Kors with my friend Vlada. We catch up about what we've been up to this summer. Then the music starts pumping. Kors is always an upbeat show and a great way to get the day started.
I met superstar tennis player Maria Sharapova backstage. I'm very excited since I'm a fan, but I'm just as thrilled to see that this talented athlete is a fan of fashion, too. We have a short chat.
A girl has to eat. I have a quick lunch in Bryant Park after the Richard Chai show, before heading to Narciso Rodriguez. This quiet park definitely undergoes a transformation for fashion week, but parts of it remain undisturbed—the restaurant is so close to the madness of the tents, yet at the same time so far away.
A driver is a must during fashion week. Having a car means you have somewhere to nap during shows, a place to leave your bags, and a trunk to stock up with generous gifts from designers, like shoes and handbags. I need to find more closet space. Here I am leaving the tents and heading down to the Narciso Rodriguez show in Chelsea.
Heading backstage. I wouldn't dream of running in without saying hello to casting director Angus Munro.
I head straight to makeup. The backstage at Narciso's show is always super-relaxed and quiet, which is such a treat during an otherwise hectic week. An even bigger treat is having my makeup done by Dick Page.
A quick catch up with my girlfriend Sasha P. and Women Management booker Pedja. We talk about where to eat after the show, how many fittings we have tonight, and how much fun we will have dancing at the
Another Magazine party held at The Box. We've got a long night ahead of us!
