At the end of the day, it all boils down to personal preference. And personally I wouldn't want to see Natasha be a VS angel.
In my strong opinion she is doing fine without a hardcore VS.. list of work, and Meisel. Although a Vogue Italia cover would go down a treat.

If Natasha becomes a VS angel, unlike the other angels, Natasha lives and breathes modeling. She does it so much I'd expect her to treat VS like a side job so we shouldn't be limiting Natasha to what she is capable of just because we don't like VS .

i don't think working with meisel is the best thing a model could do. natasha barely works with him and look at how far she has gotten. and i don't think models get ruined by vs. the list that the member posted before of those models. all of them got on the forbes list of highest paid models at some point... and then, it means she will be everywhere!!!!! and i was just sort of thinking see how she didn't get any campaigns this season...

^yeah but my personal preference isn't the commercial side of the industry (as some members here prefer with the mention of VS)
and the meisel thing i mentioned, if you look in the history of models the girls who have stuck around the longest (the likes of linda, christy, kate, naomi ect ect) have all been a huge part of meisel's career to which he uses to this day, so i would much prefer to see her career last another 10 or even 20 years than for her to have a one hit wonder with VS and be redundant within 5 years, and alot of meisel's girls are very wealthy still.
everyone moans about her not having any ads this season so what exactly will she have to show for working with VS in this thread ? not much if you ask me, because i think alot of brands would do exactly what they have done to the likes of julia stagner and back away from them at a slow and steady pace.

i personally think her being a VS angel would ruin her career, you've only got to look at the track record of current or past VS models (doutzen, julia stagner, ana beatrice and gisele) that had huge careers and now they are a one trick pony.

Its not the fault of VS if a model's career has slowed. Have you ever thought maybe it was her(Julia's) choice to slow down and not do as much. She seems happy to me in the candid pictures of her. And she was more of a Maybelline model than a VS model as in she never had a angel contract with them.

I don't know the point of bringing in Doutzen or Gisele as they are quite successful models who regularly are featured in Vogue or have campaigns. They are content with their life.

Ana Beatriz was never a VS angel either and she made some bad judgements like working for JLo lingerie line or whatever it was but it had nothing to do with VS. Her career is back on track btw and she is doing some amazing work, whether it be walking for Dior or being featured in upcoming Vogue Russia.

And now lets talk about the VS angels who are the hottest thing in high fashion now. Lets see there is Miranda Kerr and then there is Alessandra Ambrosio and of course Adriana Lima. To me VS actually helped their careers rather than hurt them as I am seeing them not just outside of high fashion but in major campaigns for Prada or on the covers of magazines like V or Vogue.

If Natasha became a VS angel(which I doubt she will), it will probably benefit her financially and broaden her appeal so people might actually get to know her more.

And the era of Meisel and the supermodels is a thing of the past. VS is the new supermodel making machine.

Is it possible that HF-work is more exhausting than commercial work? This might be also a reason to switch from HF to commerical stuff.
I have the feeling that the HF-models like to walk VS! They seem to have really fun backstage.

But i have to agree i don't see Nat as an Angel but i'm sure she will walk the show!

I mean, why dont we throw Couch as a high fashion label, too?

Victoria's Secret does SQUAT to launch a model's career. They are only an AMERICAN brand that can be acquired in many other places but it certainly isnt Vogue Italia and it hardly can get the title of a ready to wear collection (they dont even show on the tents!!!).

And Vlada is the hottest thing right now and shes not in VS.

Natasha was certainly established before VS (and their mega shows/mediatic orgies) they just work so she can be known in the US (like Sports Illustrated).

Now .. lets remember that this is a MODEL thread, and I love love love whats being discussed here but we'd better create a thread and take the discussion over there before some mod is gonna come and delete all this posts.

Yep I agree, I think Natasha's career is an example for young models, she's one of the most succesful models without constant shows for VS, gossip, Meisel and Wintour, her success is just based in her constant work and professionalism, that's why I love her! and I wouldn't mind to see her at VSFS again, she's one of the few models that made the show worth it
