i've been looking for bag and they have one at the boutique for me but its a bit defective and the rest are supposedly on special order. my aunt also bought one from the boutique and had a similar prob so she returned it. then she got one that was a lot better from neimans but it had a stain on it, so she brought it bak but they cleaned it and lied to her that it was another new one...so i'm not sure if i should just purchase it online through either neimans, saks, or gucci.com. what are you experiences with any of these online and what would you suggest would be the safest way to go?

You can't go wrong with Neimans or Saks online. I've never had a problem with either one and their customer service has always been excellent.

hmm im conerned because i faintly recall someone who ordered from one of those places and they sent her possibly returned merchandise...?

Really? that's horrible- luckily, I've never had that experience and let me tell you, I shop on both of them alot.

My wife has had some problems with SAKS online, especially when they have discount codes. I remember they had a huge promotion, earlier this year, where you got $50 off every $100 you purchased. You can imagine the volume of people ordering and it took about 2 credit card cycles for the credit to be applied (they took the code when she checked out, but when she got the bill, the code/discount was missing).

I believe Saks is a bit more iffy with their merchandise as well. I think that they do not have a centralized warehouse...so when you order they have to locate the item and ship the item from that store...I remember some of my wife's stuff came from Florida, some Cali. Neimans does have a warehouse and ships everything out of Dallas.

As for selection, ease of shopping and availability of sales items, I have to give the thumbs up to Neimans.

 good to know...thank you so much!

Meowmix, just wanted to say that I am sorry to hear about your problems...I hate when things go wrong like that especially at upper end stores.... :flower:

Saks is my lover lol. I never had a problem with Saks but I never really ordered anything off of Neiman so I don't have much input but my money goes to Saks :)

A couple of months ago I have purchased the YSL Mombasa small leather bag from nm.com. It was definately used, it was scratched and the leather looked worn. I do have to say the customer service was good, I had no problem returning it. The downside is that it all taked time.

Neiman is great since I and my friends ordered from there and all are fine...but it takes a while for them to delivery...I luv Shopbop 'coz they delivery quickly and rite at door =)

It happens alot. Ive gotten many items that were obviously used and returned merchandise. I ordered a pair of Anne Klein black satin heels and they came and the leather soles were all dirty and worn off a bit on the bottom. Obviously, they weren't horrible.. but weren't new. :(

Currently, I'm having drama with Saks Fifth Avenue since they had a glitch in their computer system and my credit card was charged but my order was cancelled (and now one of the items are sold out!). Its getting taken care of but it takes up to 14 days for my credit card to be credited.. . boo. I have talked to their customer service so many times I know them by name. :o Besides that problem, I order online way more than I should.. and generally they are fantastic. Decent fast shipping, usually always have discount/free shipping codes and the online customer service chats are great. :flower:
