New GAP Inc CEO named

Gap Inc. headed north for its new chairman and chief executive, tapping Glenn Murphy, a Canadian with strong retail turnaround skills but no fashion experience.

Do you think this guy can turn things around? After all, he turned a regular drug store chain into a drug store which sells some department store (you can find Benefit, Smashbox and Lancome, for example, at several Shoppers Drug Marts).

I think it is a good move considering I used to freelance for them. If he can turnaround a drugstore, he can turn around a retail store. Just may mean more layoffs?? And more creative energy needed in SF! Yahoo, I'm here, call me for help! I'll rock their world!

Yeah, you may want to wait a couple of months or so, sounds like they'll be cleaning house for a while. It seems like Patrick Robinson wouldn't be a bad guy to work for....
