A good friend of my fiance's created the video that is played during the concert, so he worked with the group for a month or two before their kick-off last week.

We get VIP tickets/seats for their L.A. show in October... I'm not sure why I don't know their music (I'm 25), but maybe I was too busy listening to Pearl Jam at the time.

I Highly doubt it, NKOTB were most successful way before Pearl Jam, (although you are also young to be a teen when Pearl Jam was created) , at the time of their Peak if you are 25, you couldn't have been more than six , I'm not surprised you did not heard of them and be glad you didn't.
