New York Street Style #2

If you walk everywhere, then you really don't wear heels that often, i can count the number of times i've worn heels during the day(i wear them at night) and i've been here 4 years...
that being said i still see a number of women in heels, i just can't do it!

Somehow the 40's and 50's look never translates for me. It always looks like they stepped off a movie set. Too self conscious.

I think where these girls go wrong is wearing everything head to toe "retro", including the white foundation, matte red lips, granny shoes and pin curled hair.

If she kept the outfit and left her makeup, accessories and hair up to date, it would come off much more creative and unusual, and less movie set.

Nothing too ground breaking here. Maxi dresses were a dime a dozen this summer. The difference is the girl wearing it. Color is great, print not so much. IMO

very cool styles....but are all the women in this city either really tall, or are high heels just "not in" over there????.....hardly any women seem to wear high heels in NYC

Funny you should mention that. I love heels myself but after walking on uneven concrete streets for an entire day and navigating narrow subway platforms through crowds, not such a good idea. Its sad because I never get to wear my heels in NY unless I'm getting picked up and driven somewhere on a night out.
