Wow....that would be so interesting to see............the most recent pictures I saw of her were the ones where her hair is blond and the one with her baby....but those must be YEARS old though......mmmmmm........I love that she stands out & grabs your attention because she is unlike anyone else....& for me it goes beyond that...to some weird level......just everything....her essence......her pressence....there's something there......something I'm so drawn to......like it's something I know..........I love to hear about the way she caught your attention all those years ago........

well, i was a fan of karen and christy, and kate moss and naomi, and they were all different but they were just simply gorgeous.... and they were, well not kate, but the others were sex bombs, and i saw some pic and there was this pure innocent face, like a little girl and no glam, just pure beauty... so it like when natalia vodianova appeared for the 1st time... but it years ago and i can;t remember which pic was the 1st that caught my eye... but i adore her advertisment for perfume when she is looking through a key hole...
so it is simple... she was different and had some sort of innocent and saddness in her eyes...

I'm not sure that she ended up serving in the military. Yes, Israeli's are supposed to serve a year in the military when they turn 18, but i'm sure she could've gotten out of it. She was already pretty successful by the time she was 18. I certainly don't recall anything regarding this.

(On a related note, i found this unfinished scan of mine with Nina posing with other Israeli models, Mayaan Karet (sp?) and Shiraz Tal, in Israeli army t-shirts. It comes from an issue of Top Model)

I think her short haircut was more a "career move" than anything. I remember other models doing the same thing at the time - Kirsty Hume, for example.
It's hard to say why she didn't catch on - it's all so subjective - but she was a bit short for a model. So at the very least, that would've hindered her. But the Bebe ads she did were probably the most high-profile work she did, and that was well after her short haircut, etc.

Here's a short bio that seems to be the only other source of information divulging details of her life....this is the only version that is used & reused on the sites............in fact, reading about her untameable nature drew me into discovering more pictures of her all those years ago! And the fact that she was half Russian.....because I'm Russian myself, but both halves

HERE IT IS:

Nina Brosh (born November 12, 1975) is an Israeli model and actress.
Nina was born in Ramat Yishai, Israel to a Jewish Russian father and Chinese mother. She was discovered while sleeping on a park bench in Tel Aviv. At the time, she was a homeless and penniless runaway. A photographer noticed her and offered her assistance in exchange for the opportunity to take pictures of her. Weeks later, Nina's image was plastered all over the city.
Nina and her representation began looking for broader success, first going to New York, and then finally finding real success in Paris. She began to appear on runways, magazine editorials, and advertisements, working with brands such as Evian, Byblos, and Givenchy.
Some people think her tattoos have hindered her career. They are often either airbrushed out of photos or covered with makeup for runway shows. Nina has recently declared semi-retirement from modelling. She has moved back to Israel and settled into a villa in the wealthy city of Kfar Smaryahu. There, with her boyfriend Assi Salev, she has begun a family. She has also been putting energy into re-educating herself, focusing on a possible medical career.
In 1995 Nina was voted the 79th "Most Powerful Person in Fashion" by The Face magazine. In 1998 she appeared opposite Vincent Gallo in the independent movie Hollywood Salome, though rumours of links to high profile projects such as The Fifth Element and Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace have all fallen through. She is currently in semi-retirement.

Ha, i wrote this! From what little info i could gather from magazines and some people who contacted me. It was on the bio page of my site, and it has been lifted word-for-word and put on various sites all over the net. I think it's funny because i don't even know how true it all is! :ninja: :innocent:

Some of those scans that were just posted are old scans of mine! I've rescanned them since then in higher quality. I'll post them here soon. :)

I never would've guessed that she was half-Chinese; it's rare for a Eurasian to look so predominately "white". I really like her look overall, it's unique and very strangely attractive.
:angry::angry: Ohnoyoudidnt!

Okay, she's not unattractive, but she's a bizarre mixture of Lucy Liu, Tiiu, Thom Yorke, Patricia Arquette, Fiona Apple, Lily Taylor and a bunch of other weird looking folks. Btw, I'm not surprised she's Eurasian: she basically looks like a blonde-hair, blue-eyed Lucy Liu to me.

Wow, you're the Nina superstar! Well thank you for it! It really grabbed my attention when I was discovering her, y'know.....It's so funny that it's been copied all over the place, that's quite an honor, huh! Well, it's probably also due to the fact that there's nothing else out there......oooh apart from this one other site that has little tiny pieces of info from time to time.....the site is called something like 'even supermodels get lonely'...I'll post the link once I find it.................but anyway, you really brought her onto the internet & into the limelight for the second time, man, I will always be so thankful to you!

I see what you're talkin about with that mixture....for me though she's always really resembled like Liv Tyler.........especially when they laugh, it's almost hard to tell the difference:

She was in a Star Wars movie??? No wonder she looked a little familiar...

O no no, sugar, I don't think she ended up in that movie....no I'm certain she didn't.....she was also meant to be in The Fifth Element but neither project went through.....she only starred in Hollywood Salome........

Oh jeeze - i have all those. Give me some time, and i'll post them here. :flower:

^ And no, she wasn't in Star Wars. At the time that was written, they were still casting the prequels and it was rumored that she would have a role.

Here is a video clip for you to enjoy. It's a model profile of Nina from way back, very early on. There's a little interview clip and it's so cute!

Even in such small size I can still see the bleuFunk tags on them. ^_^

Does anybody need any of her BeBe ads? :p It's about all I have that I actually can post of her.
