Some crappy pictures from the Nine Inch Nails show in Philly. The concert was really great. As always, they sounded amazing live, very crisp and clear, unlike other bands who overwhelm with guitar distortion. The set was fair lengthwise, about 15-16 songs. It was a nice mix of new and old, but there were some great songs they did not play, and some not so great ones they did. I was particularly greatful that they played "Burn" from the Natural Born Killers soundtrack, because I haven't heard it live yet. Also, in the middle of the concert they did a three song set with a short film juxtaposing the land-of-plenty life in the US with that of the Third World countries, the US military presence, the Bushies dancing at the tuxedo ballroom party with the war-injured Iraqi children, and as usual the humans world and the animal world. A bit banal, but necessary imagery if you ask me - so thumbs up for that.
The visuals were decent, but definitely not even close to the Fragile tour ones, for which Trent hired the same guy who did lighting/video effects for the Pink Floyd's shows. All in all, great experience, although I must tell you, there is no concerts like the ones in New York - those are always special. In Philly the fans placidly exited when the lights went up, whereas in New York noone would leave and made hurrendous noise until the band would come back again to play a few more songs.
