the collecton is nice but I'm used to
the sexyiness to it...i feel like it was too girly

That has to be Dell'Acua's most uninspired collection ever. Last season totally triumphs over this. So disappointing.

prints..ruched waistband..colours :( i am not feeling this

I agree with you!
Last season was such a breakthrough moment for him,he was kinda making a new Dell'Acqua women aesthetic, very young and fresh but still chic and luxurious
This collection is surely young, summery and easy but I'm not really feeling the high fashion vibe...anyway it's not THAT bad!

agree about "this being his most unspired collection" but i still like it..it looks so clean, summery and fresh

Loads of Italian luxurious sporty coolitude à la Bottega Veneta.
Sleek silhouettes and flowing fabrics. So very flattering, and flirty, and summery!

I adore this!

the red pieces are okay but i just find this really dull

i love the pattern and no one does nudes and beiges like alessandro, but one wonders if his work at brioni -- is he still there? -- has informed his aesthetic more than he's influenced the aesthetic of brioni. this is definitely a more sober outing than we're used to from him.

But Mr. Dell'Acqua is coming off a volatile stretch that includes quitting his own label last year. The Alessandro Dell'Acqua brand, launched in 1996, had become popular in Italy for its sexy nice-girl clothes. (He also created the gold-sequined pants worn by Michael Jackson at rehearsals for his last tour, chronicled in the film "This Is It.")

The divorce with his label was all too typical in fashion—a designer splitting with his financial backers over creative differences. As often happens, Mr. Dell'Acqua lost the legal rights to work under his own name, which was owned by the label.

Less typical was the way he handled it—sending out a lengthy press release in June 2009 that announced the house's spring collections would be "produced without my approval."

Dell'Acqua Redesigns the Brioni Woman

Italian designer Alessandro Dell'Acqua, who left his own label last year, has taken on the task of reinventing the womens wear line of Italian fashion house Brioni.

"It was very painful," he said last week. "For six months, I did no work at all." He said he is resigned to the idea that he may never again design as "Alessandro Dell'Acqua." A new manufacturer, Mariella Burani Fashion Group SpA, this month announced it will design, make and sell a line of women's clothes under the Alessandro dell'Acqua name, starting with a fall 2011 collection.

I like this collection! It's not as incredible as the previous one, which was brilliant, but it's still very nice and true to his style:heart:

He continues to be one of the most underrated designers out there
