Norma's one of the most under appreciated actresses of her time! She is amazing. Have any of you seen her Pre-Codes like "The Divorcee" and "A Free Soul"? She's simply lovely in those. Such a brilliant actress.
pic 1:the filmgoer´s annual 1932
pic 2:the picture show annual 1927
pic 3:cover of film weekly/nov.1929 (the magazine is so huge that it didn´t wholly fit into my scanner
pic 4:the golden treasure album of the screen (ca 1933) norma also wrote the foreword.perhaps i´ll post this another time
someone has to safe norma from this serious state of neglection.i´m hoping for help here because this is too much responsibilty for one to bear alone...
where have all the shearer fans gone?drinking a cup of virtual tea just around the corner or are they to be visited in the zoo as last examples of a dying breed?
shearer in 1925,outside her modest bungalow in hollywood
ahhh, lucy, now we´re two!!that´s almost a population...and such beautiful pictures too.love especially nr. 6.it has to be a rather early picture of norma!
miss shearer and me are drinking a cup of tea looking outside through the window totally astounded by the masses of people who are hurrying by there... (and are never stopping not even for a moment )
shze certainly knew how to wear a satin gown.seems like she was born it.
she was hurrell´s muse.we have already had similar pics to this one ,but not exactly the same
a free soul,1931 with clark gable.i love her classic profile and those cloche hats looked best on her.later she often had the inclination to exeggerate her styling too much imo
i loved her as marie-antoinette.perhaps a bit sappy at times, but nevertheless very very moving and realistic.it was her last great film.thalberg was already dead when they astarted to shoot the film
Amazing pics. Norma Shearer has a unique look about her, but what an amazing actress. Its good to see that im not the only one who knows who she is. I loved her in the women, i know its rather outdated now but i can never get bored watching her or that movie.
