Nostalgia

Does anyone remember that West Side Story editorial from last year's Vogue? (It had Natalia V. in it.) It was very much about this trend and I adored it!
Hmm...I think I'll try to find it again...

I can't wait for this trend to come back again... :innocent:
 what do you mean? its already out there,
even mass market shops spot vintage looks for ss04..
including Mango, Zara, kookai, H&M

nostalgia, ballet or round toe shoes (mainly in flats)
are all over the place making a change for the season.

so are printed bags, in 'vintage' themes & stripes
i regret being in a hurry and stupidly not getting a fabric Marni for only 100 euros
i need to get my hands on this beauty..

But as yet you hardly see anyone actually wearing the vintage-inspired clothing out on the streets.

I don't pay so much attention to magazine fashion as street fashion, and I can affirm that the 1950s have not yet come back to places like Kansas City, MO.

Until GAP is selling it, most people here won't be wearing it.

Bah, vintage, humbug. As long as D&G give me more Anita Ekberg I'm happy...

Grease without John in his 20s is like pizza without the pizza - Kylie doesn't come close to being the total sex idol that John was...

D&G did lots -and lots- of vintage for ss04 :P
Grease? please its NOT about Grease at all.. its more Doris Day, Liz Taylor etc.

as for Kansas city.. well, what do i know as-you-like-it?
in Europe girls are already sporting a 50's kind of bits and pieces down the streets.
if it is in the shops, it's also in the street here ;)

prague is not a very fashion-y city, and so far i've been the only person who's been wearing the 50's trend.

which, of coruse, i do not mind at all :innocent:

From what I'm seeing you can't get away from the 50s, and that's another fifty on. But I'm not complaining, it's what I like, be it in fashion or not.
