Numéro #203 May 2019 : Adwoa Aboah by Jean-Baptiste Mondino

Numero is now so generic and bland. Oddly, it's sister magazine Numero Tokyo is one of my faves and continues to be more exciting, not to mention casts underrated models.

Can we all please forget about Adwoa and just never ever remember her in fashion? Please.
Stop this obsession with fake activists and hype subjects, fashion has become so cheap and mainstream - there is almost no value in it anymore.

What's going on at Numéro? not a long time ago it used to be one of the best magazines, I remember those stellar covers by Txema Yeste.
This one is so boring.
Adwoa is so 2017. AndTyra Banks called and said she wants her ANTM concept back.

Truly amazed at how bland this cover looks, and Numéro had the audacity to use a grey backdrop with white font. I will never understand this girl's hype. Definitely not model material, and not much of a socialite, yet here she is. Booking covers while the actual models are relegated to filler edits. It beggars belief.

Also Babeth, stop selling your covers like this! It's tacky for the kind of magazine you put together. Numéro's team will be quick to talk thrash about mainstream magazines and 'how they don't run pedestrian how-to features', but you sell your cover to the highest bidder each month and do a shoddy job at advertorials, so sit down!

Pointless...Babeth, what’s going on?

And really Mondino is great but he should just do Elle France.
Babeth needs to find new talents... It’s tired already.

Her face just annoys me and her constant harping on about the industry is a bit rich considering her career is entirely built on her connections. Nothing about this cover is interesting - a bit like Numéro altogether these days!

I love her UK Vogue cover and her Interview editorial in Harlem by Mikael, but otherwise her work has been really piss-poor, and this cover is evidence of her lack of appeal.

Mind you, not that anyone could make this stupid concept work. Mondino used to do good work for Arena Homme Plus and NYT (actually under Stefano) in the past two decades, but don't like any of his stuff for Numero.

I dislike her expression, it comes across more as disdain than defiance. It puts me off.
