A special edition of Numéro dedicated entirely to the house of Chanel, to coincide with the 'Le Grand Numéro de Chanel' exhibition from December 15 to January 9 at the Grand Palais Éphémère in Paris.

Cover #1 with Lily-Rose Depp by Jean-Baptiste Mondino:

Cover #2 with Marion Cotillard by Boo George:

Cover #3 with Marine Vacth by Dominique Issermann:

Cover #4 with Vittoria Ceretti by Solve Subdsbo

All utterly forgettable covershots. If I had to choose one, it’d be Marine’s. Only because there’s not a single Virginie's Chanel piece visible— and her head looks like it’s on a chopping block.

The real challenge here is for this issue to transcend Virginie’s depressing, heavy, pedestrian designs to that place of lightness, joy and unapologetic, decadent richness of which Karl so effortlessly churned out.

Only here for Vittoria and the Vanessa Paradis photoshoot...

And also kinda interested in the Coco Chanel imaginary interview... Ask her what does she think about Virginie's tenure... I just know she's rolling her eyes from hell...

Did they use an old Lindbergh shot for the Marion Cottilard cover?

Anyway, interesting to see Solve Sundsbo back in Numero. Too bad it’s probably only for this special issue.

A truly terrific set of covers, IMO. A total upgrade from what Numéro usually produces and I genuinely do not dislike one single cover. Marion Cotillard's is my most fave out the four, because it's just so classic.

And going off the previews... this might just be the best issue of Numéro in YEARS!
