Numéro Korea #2 September 2008 : Freja Beha Erichsen

isn't that part of her appeal?...the whole androgyny thing.... why does her image have to be feminised?...to me the whole point is that she has this androgynous bad-*** thing going on....and i think she feels completely comfortable in that space, it seems... that's the kind of work i like best from her because i think it seems more authentic and her attitude really comes through. all these 'pretty' girly images of her are nice but they lack the spark that an image like this has imo. i don't understand why she is any less of a girl because of her body type and haircut....:innocent:

I completely agree and I think you made your point quite well. The amazing thing about Freja is that she can pull off both the ultra femme look and the androgynous look and not that many models can do that. But covers like this is where she shines through.

i don't understand why she is any less of a girl because of her body type and haircut....:innocent:

She isn't any less of a girl, you're right. Any misunderstanding of the feminine identity as purely one thing or another is stale and regressive. A woman is defined individually, and thank God for that! We can't all fit into one mold, one definition, one expectation. Relatively speaking, when a woman is considered not feminine enough, it is usually a case of discomfort and distance on part of the identifier. Some people choose not to understand expansion and evolution because it can be unnerving and difficult to appreciate. But, in this case, it might just really all come down to subjective taste...and thank God for that too!

Just, NO!
I have this feeling that if it were on US VOGUE, people would say "hate her hair!"
"whats in her hand" ew awful"

^ I agree because US VOGUE does not have fine art covers so this styling would not work. US VOGUE wants the cover models to be aspirational and wear runway looks. Numero is in a different league - they're doing different things.

The cover photo reminds me of Meisel's central asian themed editorial with Coco Rocha and Meghan. Freja is so perfect here

It's still only sold in South Korea right? :(:cry:

hmm.. call me pedantic, but what I can't seem to find, are the credits for the picture.. :innocent::ninja:

the hair is just stupid and ruins everything. it reminds me of bad hip hop videos from the late 90s/early 2000s.

erhm no, no! it's all wrong. The hair is terrible, and so is that kind of necklace she's wearing, and what's she holding on her arm?
The pose covering her breast looks ridiculous... and finally I have to say that she occupies too little space and the cover feels empty.

I think it's awesome Fre's doing the Korean issue. And I hope for an awesome editorial!!

@ elsaskywalker: I really like the quote in your sig.

I don't like it! Hope the eds inside are better than the cover

different elements of this cover are crappy, but overall, i quite like it.

i don't know... the idea isn't bad but i don't like her facial expression very much... which is really disappointing because freja is a great model.

Exactly sethii. But I think her body is terrible for this cover, non?
I actually think that Freja's body looks great here. A lot better than how some other models would have looked.

Her body looks rugged and athletic as if she spends her time hunting mammoths
