now that i'm seeing these 2 nippon vogue covers, i want to ask sothg i always wanted to ask : why Raquel is sooo demanded for the past years and why when she started (back in late 90s-early 00s) she was not that much ??? Why her "break" btw her 2 careers changed everything ?

I was wondering the same thing. I was flipping through some old mags and I saw Raquel in a Valentino ad from around 2002. I guess a lot of girls pop in and out of the modeling world though. I think it's interesting that the girls that were everywhere in 2001/2002 are all back now (ie Guinevere van Seenus, and even Carmen Kass). I know individual models experience career revivals, but I didn't think they would do so in packs.

Raquel really has had a long career considering she's been working through so many cycles and trends as far as models go.I am glad there are some true hard workers still around(Carmen ,Mariacarla ,Guinevere, Anouck, etc.)

I'm not in love with the cover though.The absence of words is good however.

I think that she opened Prada f/w 04 contributed to her revivial, without it she wouldn't have been booked for Vogue US.

i actually like the cover! i'm growing weary of teased hair, and I don't think it really suits Raquel, but I love the dress and the colors of the type.

I don't find the eds particularly interesting to look at.

i really don't like the color of the letters, but raquel's face looks a bit better than usual. about heidi's ed - is that the entire ed? so short. she looks really great though.
